Abstract

PURPOSE: To automate centering of a work by employing a micrometer for measuring off-center in positioning for cutting.
CONSTITUTION: A lead screw 3 is turned by a motor 4, a slide unit 6 is shifted in X axial dirction together with a measuring unit's main body 5, top end of an electric micrometer 7 is made to contact a measuring position on outer circumferential surface of a work 14, and thus decided position is to become a set base point of the electric micrometer 7. And then, a table 10 is turned, values of the electric micrometer 7 are read at cutting positions commanded from a light-emitting-and-receiving equipment 15 to the table 10, the values are calculated by a calculator 25, and the electric pulse motor 21 is driven accordingly to pulse number from a pulse generator 29, and thereby a chuck-operating ball screw 12 is turned to shift the chuck 13 so that the work 14 is clamped at a position of centering.
