Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the detecting accuracy by using a conical prism.
CONSTITUTION: There is arranged on the optical axis 4 of a focusing lens 2 which is arranged in parallel with the optical axis 3 of an objective lens 1 such a trigonal, pyramid and conical prism 5 as has its apex angle larger than twice of the complementary angle of the critical angle for the total reflection thereby to be free from any total reflection. And, the light incident upon the lens 1 is focused upon a light receiving element 8 through an iris 9 and a focusing lens 9, and the light incident upon the lens 2 is forcused upon a light receiving element 7 through the prism 5, an iris 6 and a focusing lens 11. The received guantities of light are fed through a differential amplifier 12 to a light emitting display device 13. When the difference inbetween becomes zero, the display device 13 is operated to display the focused condition. Thus, a sufficient quantity of light is incident upon the elements 7 and 8 thereby to attain the desired objects.
