Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a steel sheet for enamel which sheet can perfectly prevent formation of a striped pattern (tearing) when enameled, by regulating the available Mn value of an ultra low carbon, extra soft steel to a predetermined range and reducing the total N content of the steel to below a predetermined value.
CONSTITUTION: The steel sheet for enamel is a sheet made of steel consisting of C≤0.01%, Mh, S and O; satisfying the value of available Mn represented by the formula to be below O, total N≤5 ppm and the balance Fe. This sheet is about equal to a conventional sheet in workability and enamel adherence, and it can perfectly prevent tearing formed on double-enameled ware.
