PURPOSE: To prepare a raw material of coke, having high bulk density, by the heat treatment of a high-volatile non-caking coal under specific conditions, using a solid-media heating process which comprises the mixing with hot coal heated to a high temperature.
CONSTITUTION: A hihg-volatile non-caking coal is powdered with a coal crusher 2, preheated in a coal preheater 3 to about ≤400°C, and charged into a mixer 5, with coal heated to about ≥600°C in a high temperature oven 4 to raise the temperature of the mixture to 420W600°C. The heat-treated non-caking coal is discharged as a raw material for coke 6. A part of the treated coal 6 is recycled to the high temperature oven 4 via the line 7, and reused as a raw material of the hot coal.
