Abstract

PURPOSE: To make sintered ore hardly splittable by heat when used in a blast furnace, by feeding thermally splittable lump ore as bed ore before usual raw material for sintering is fed to a sintering machine.
CONSTITUTION: Pulverized iron ore 1, sub-material 2, lime stone 3, and coke breeze 4 are mixed in a mixer 5 and is fed to the pallet of a sintering machine 6. Thermally splittable ore 7 (e.g., Rio do Sul ore, MBR ore etc.) is previously fed as bed ore to the pallet of the sintering machine 6. Successively the sintering ore and the bed ore having been sintered are delivered by way of pulverizing, screening, and cooling apparatus 8 to a blast furnace 9. Fine ore produced in the sintering process from the thermally splittable ore is used for the sintering raw material as return ore 10. The thermally splittable ore which was once used as bed ore hardly splits when used in a blast furnace 9, consequently never decreases the productivity of the blast furnace operation, and never increases fuel ratio.
