Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable minute load to be accurately detected and improve weatherability by covering strain gauges and the strain gauge bonding parts with inert liquid in a load detector using the strain gauges.
CONSTITUTION: A beam 11 has a rectangular section and formes a parallel spring with the holes 30, 31 and a notch 32 provided near its center. Strain gauges 12 are affixed to the top and bottom of the thin-walled part thereof and are put in inert liquid 18 to be cotoff from the effect of moisture, etc. When a load is applied via steel ball 16 to the end of the beam 11 by a rod 17, the beam 11 deflects and this produces strain in the strain gauges 12. This strain is detected as electric signal. The use of the inert liquid 18 of a relatively low viscosity obviates restraining of the strain gauges 12 and bean 11 thereby making it possible to obtain the sure output even for the minute load.
