Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to enlarge a picture and gradation, and to store several small pictures easily by attaining access to a desirable length memory region at any bit position assigned by a bit-position assignment circuit and a bit-length assignment circuit.
CONSTITUTION: Memory bank 1 consists of several memory boards 11...1n, which has a memory capacity of 256 by 256 (picture element) by one bit and are supplied with X and Y addresses in common. Then, bit-position assignment circuit 3 assigns several boards 11...1n, and bit-length assignment circuit 5 assigns the number of boards following the assigned boards. At the time of writing and reading picture information, circuits 3 and 5 assign and attain access to a desirable length memory region at any bit position. Consequently, it can be made possible to enlarge the picture and gradation and to store several small pictures easily.
