Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the moisture content of recording paper prior to recording and make possible the efficient use of the heat energy at the recording by having recording paper supported by the coloring material supply roller which has been heated to the fusing temperature or softening temperature or under of the coloring material. CONSTITUTION:In the portion where the coloring material control roller 7 and coloring material supply roller 1 having been heated to above or below the melting or softening temperature of a coloring material layer 3 approach, the layer 3 is melted or softened by heating of the roller 7. Hence, the layer 3 whose thickness has been controlled at the portion where the rollers 1 and 7 approach is formed on the roller 1. Recording paper 4, which travels in contact with the half circumference of the roller 1, makes contact to the heating part 6 of a heat head 5 immediate before it leaves the roller 1, then the layer 3 is heated to melt via the recording paper 4, thereby thermally fusing to the recording paper 4 and enabling the recording images 9 conforming to electric signals to be obtained.
