(2) Background of the technology When desired printing is performed by heating an ink sheet with a print head, evaporating and sublimating the ink in the heated area, and transferring it to the recording paper surface, an ink layer applied to the base material of the ink sheet is used. If the thickness of the ink layer on the base material is uneven, the amount of ink transferred will be different between thicker and thinner areas when heated by the print head, resulting in poor print quality. There is a need for a method of manufacturing an ink sheet that can be formed in a manner similar to that described above.

(3) Prior Art and Problems A thermal transfer ink sheet is obtained by applying molten ink to the surface of a substrate and drying and solidifying the applied ink while winding it up with a take-up roller. In this case, the ink sheet being wound is
Tension acts on the substrate, and this tension causes wrinkles, which causes the ink layer formed with a uniform layer thickness on the substrate during the ink application process to become uneven, resulting in poor print quality during thermal transfer. It was hot.

(5) Structure of the Invention According to the present invention, in a method for producing an ink sheet in which an ink sheet is obtained by applying ink to the surface of a base material and drying the ink sheet, after the ink application step, the base material is coated with an ink sheet. a step of bringing a heating drum into contact with the surface of the base material so as to heat and melt the ink attached to the base material while applying a uniform tension, and a cooling drum against the back surface of the base material after the ink heating and melting step. This is achieved by providing a method for manufacturing an ink sheet, which comprises the step of solidifying the ink adhering to the base material while applying uniform tension to the base material.

(6) 発明の実施例 以下本発明を図面によつて詳述する。(6) Examples of the invention The present invention will be explained in detail below with reference to the drawings.

The ink sheet I, which has already undergone the coating process, is conveyed by a feeding roller R 1 and a take-up roller R 2 and adhered to a heating drum K. At this time, the ink on the ink sheet I (applied to the side opposite to the contact surface of the drum K) melts. The ink sheet I is further conveyed.
The ink is adhered to the cooling drum C in a molten state. At this point, the ink on the ink sheet solidifies, but since the solidification occurs on the surface of drum C, tension is applied uniformly to the ink sheet surface, and there are no wrinkles or warps on the ink sheet, and the ink is uniformly spread over the ink sheet I surface. adhere to. The ink sheet I is further conveyed and wound around a winding roller R2 .
