Abstract

PURPOSE: To efficiently disperse a NaClO soln. in a cooling water system without increasing the amt. of salt water to be electrolyzed, by electrolyzing part of pressurized salt water; reducing the press. of a NaClO soln. formed to atmospheric press.; introducing the remaining salt water into an ejector; and drawing the soln. to mix it with the salt water.
CONSTITUTION: Part of pressurized seawater 1 is introduced into electrolytic cell 2, and cell 2 is applied with DC voltage to form NaClO and H2 gas. This electrolyzed soln. is supplied 3 to degassing vessel 5 with the press. of seawater introduced, and the press. of the soln. is reduced 4 to atmospheric press., releasing 4 H2 gas. On the other hand, the remainder of seawater 1 is supplied 8 to ejector 7, where NaClO soln. 9 degassed in vessel 5 is drawn, mixed with the seawater, and diluted, and then the mixt. is injected 6 into cooling water system 10.
