Abstract

For example, hot exhaust gas 5 flows through the lower portion of the elements, while air 4 or low temperarure fluid flows through the upper portion, and heat is exchanged by evaporation at the lower portion of each heat pipe 2 and condensation at the upper portion, as in case of ordinary heat pipes, with each other fluid. Since the heat pipes used in this heat exchanger require no baking, the cost is very low despite a large capacity of heat pipes are required.
