Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate the imbalance in the operation of thermosiphon pipes by a method wherein blocks are formed by the groups of thermosiphon pipes and each block is made to function as one unit in a large-sized heat exchanger.
CONSTITUTION: Blocks A are formed by many thermosiphon pipes 3 divided into several groups and siphon pipes 3 in each block A are arranged in a regular zigzag style, while each block A itself as one unit is arranged in the main body 4 of a heat exchanger in the same regular zigzag style. The outside fluid of high or low temperature flows into the device as shown by a large arrow, but it is checked by baffle plates 5 arranged between the respective blocks at a right angle to the flowing direction of the fluid and is made to flow through the groups of siphon pipes of each block A as shown by small arrows, thus the deflection of the outside fluid being prevented.
