Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve efficiency of heat accumulator, by providing a work gas distributor between a heater or a cooler and a heat accumulating material, so that work gas is allowed to flow uniformly through the heat accumulating material.
CONSTITUTION: Work gas carried into heat accumulator 4 after passing through heater 3 or cooler 5 at first flows into a proper space 26 or 27 formed by work gas distributor 14, 16 or 14'. Here, since holes 15a of heat accumulating material 15 for passing work gas therethrough has a fairly greater frictional resistance to fluid than gas passages formed by other spaces, work gas introduced into heat accumulating material 15 from heater 3 or small-diameter tubes 17 is prevented from flowing straight and distributed in space 26 or 27. Therefore, work gas is introduced uniformly into heat accumulating material 15 from all of the holes 14a, 16a or 14a' of distributor 14, 16 or 14', so that work gas then flows into opposite tubes 17 or heater 3 after passing through material 15 uniformly. Thus, work gas is allowed to flow uniformly in the heat accumulating material 15 through almost the entire passages of the same.
