Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the positioning precision and product yield, by making the objective lens to be reciprocatable along the optical axis thereof.
CONSTITUTION: An objective lens 4 is made to be reciprocatable along the optical axis thereof. Upper and lower sheet glasses 1, 2 are disposed at a propev spacing (d), and the illumination light from an optical fiber 7 is caused to light a positioning pattern 1a on the upper sheet glass 1 by way of condenser lens 6, half mirror 5, objective lens 4, and mirror 3. After detecting this pattern position with a TV camera 10, the objective lens 4 is moved to light and detect a positioning pattern 2a on the lower sheet glass 2. The lower sheet glass 2 is moved in the directions of x, y, θ so that the positions of both positioning patterns 1a, 2a may concide with each other. After perfect coincidence, the upper and lower sheet glasses 1, 2 are adhered together tightly. Thus, high precision positioning may be realized without causing contact abrasion between both glasses 1, 2, so that the intended purpose may be achieved.
