Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:2-Acylaminobicyclo[2,2,1]hept-5-ene-carboxylic esters of formula I (R1 is alkyl; R2 is alkyl or aralkyl).
USE: Anti-ulcerative agents.
PREPARATION: The reaction between cyclopentadiene of formula II and N-acyldehydroalanine ester of formula III is effected in a solvent as toluene or DMF in the presence or absence of a catalyst as ferric chloride or aluminum chloride to give the objective compound of formula I, wherein the reaction temperature is -80W50°C when the catalyst is used, whereas 50W200°C when no catalyst is employed. The reaction time is about 2W10 hr in both cases. The compound of formula I is obtained ad a mixture of the endo and exo forms; however, they can readily separated.
