PURPOSE:To fit a membrane structure to the bottom of a low temperature tank without using anchor rings for absorbing thermal distortion caused by any cryogenic content. CONSTITUTION:Four corrugated members 01, each of which is composed of two L-shaped plates 1 and two U-shaped plates2 being welded 4 with each other and has three corrugations 5, are connected with each other, one end being in touch with a flange end at the near longitudinal center of another L-shaped plate 1, to form a square framework. Holes formed by the framework are covered watertight with thin plates 3. More than one unit of this framework are connected with each other to form a membrane structure which can effectively be applied to the bottom of a low temperature tank for absorbing thermal distortion caused by subfreezing liquid stored in the tank.
