Abstract

CONSTITUTION: At the beginning of blasting, a hot stove a1 installed at the most downstream side, near a melting apparatus 5 such as a blast furnace, is operated with a sluice valve 11, a blast valve 9, and a hot blast valve 10, a sluice valve 13 opened or closed in a prescribed manner. By this means, hot blast from the hot stove a1 at a temp. higher than the prescribed temp. is run from a duct 2 to a common duct 6, where it is mixed with cold air from a blower 4 so as to be cooled to the prescribed temp. and is charged to the melting apparatus 5. When the hot blast from the hot stove a1 is cooled to a prescribed temp., the operation of the hot stove a1 is stopped, and a hot stove a2 is started operating.
