Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify a driving system, by rotatably supporting a pump impeller on a turbine shaft and fixing a driving gear on a boss part and rotatably fitting the driving gear on a second shaft and engaging the driving gear with a driven gear.
CONSTITUTION: A turbine wheel 10 is spline-fitted on a first shaft 18. A driving gear 19 for speed shifting is mounted on the first shaft 18. The cylindrical boss part 9a of a converter casing 9 is fitted on the right-hand end of the first shaft 18. A driving gear 27 for direct connection is fitted on the boss part 9a. A clutch C1 for speed shifting and a clutch C2 for direct connection are provided on the second shaft 25. The driven gear 20 engaged with the driving gear 19 is rotatably supported on the second shaft 25. A driven gear 28 for direct connection is rotatably supported on a cylinder shaft 29' on the second shaft 25 and engaged with the driving gear 27. A kick-starter gear is engaged with a gear 29 and rotatable on a kick-starter shaft 33. As a result, the driving system is simplified.
