Abstract

PURPOSE:Two melting jet guns are faced so that their flame lines make a specified angle. One gun jets A1 (alloy) and the other jets Pb-Sn alloy so that both metal will meet the same place on the back metal to thereby obtain bearing having uniform structure of A1-Pb base bearing metal layer. CONSTITUTION:The first 1 and the second 2 melting guns are mounted on the melting jet apparatus so that both flame lines make an angle of 15 to 40 deg.C (q) and meet at the same place on the back metal surface 3. The first melting gun 1 jets A1 (alloy) and the second gun 2 jets Pb-Sn alloy containing 0.5 to 10% Sn. Both metals are simultaneously jetted to meet the same place on the back metal 3 to form bearing metal layer. Pb-Sn alloy is used in an amount of about 5 to 30% by weight of A1 (alloy). If the back metal layer precoated with an intermediate A1 (alloy) is used to be coated with both metal together, a formed bearing metal layer is bonded more firmly to the back metal.
