Abstract

PURPOSE:Al wire is dipped into bath of lead containing tin so that Al wire is coated with lead-tin alloy layer. The resulted composite wire is used to molten-jetted onto back metal thereby to provide bearing in which Al-Pd bearing metal layer is firmly bonded to back metal. CONSTITUTION:Aluminum wire or aluminum alloy wire is immersed into molten bath of lead containing 0.5 to 10% tin to be provided with coating layer of lead- tin alloy layer, or composite wire. Preferably, the lead-tin alloy coating layer is 5 to 30% by weight to aluminum (or alloy) wire material. The resulted composite wire is molten jetted onto back metal or aluminum layer or aluminum alloy layer which is preliminary formed on the back metal as intermediate layer. The molten jetting is perfomed by using wire gas method or wire arc method to provide bearing metal layer.
