Abstract

PURPOSE: To separate and recover the low-and medium-boiling fractions with dehydration, by direct distillation of a waste oil at a specific temperature under agitation to break the emulsion without dehydrating the oil.
CONSTITUTION: The waste oil 9 in an aqueous emulsion state is fed into the evaporator 1, and heated to 80W140°C under agitation by passing the steam 10 through the heating coil while being evacuated at an absolute pressure of about 350 mmHg with the ejector 6. The evaporated water and the low-boiling fraction are fed to the rectifying column 2 to return part of the bottoms to the evaporator 1. The top is cooled by the cooling water 11 to reflux the condensed vapor partly. The rectified top fraction is introduced from the cooler 3 into the receiver 4 to separate the low- boiling fraction from water. After distillation of the low-boiling fraction is completed, the amount of vapor in the ejector 6 is increased to evacuate the degree of vacuum of the system to an absolute pressure of 45 mmHg, and the evaporation residue in the evaporator 1 is heated to 140W180°C, thus introducing the medium- boiling fraction from the column 2 through the cooler 3 into the receiver 5.
