Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a good operation characteristic, with a relief quantity of the fuel made adjustable, in accordance with a rotational speed of the engine, to provide a constant quantity of the fuel injection, by means of constructing the fuel relief circuit constitution within a control sleeve. CONSTITUTION:At a base part, protruding in the side of suction air space 4 of a plunger 7, is provided an opening of cut-off port 17 that links to make a conduction between a passage 13 and the suction air space 4, and cut-off port 17 is closed at inner circumferential surfaces of a control sleeve 18 freely slidably installed to the base part. When the engine is at high speed running operation, with a fuel pressure increased, a piston 23 moves to be shifted to a position agreeable only with a passage 33, and a relief of the fuel is operated into the air space 4 only from the fuel passage 33, however, a big reducing resistance of the passage causes a relief quantity of the fuel to become small into the air space 4. Accordingly, the fuel injection quantity characteristic presents a flat curve in a range from low speed to high speed, thus capable of stabilizing the engine characteristic.
