Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the refrigerating capacity with minimum power requirement by providing an expansion turbine and connecting its output shaft to the driver of a refrigerant compressor.
CONSTITUTION: An expansion turbine 14 is provided as an expansion means with its output shaft tonnected via a connecting shaft 17 to an electric motor 16 which drives a compressor 11. The refrigerant compressed by the compressor 11 is cooled and liquefied in a condensor 12, enters the expansion turbine via a regulating valve 13, expands to drive the expansion turbine 14 by its energy and returns to an evaporator 15, whereby the output of the expansion turbine 14 is conveyed to the electric motor 16 and becomes the driving power of the compressor 11. Thus, the pressure energy discarded in the part refrigerator is effectively utilized as the compressor driving to achieve the above purpose.
