Method of forming a stonewashed appearance on wet-processed fabric
The present invention is directed to fabrics and garments while reducing redeposition of dye on the material being processed.
And how to create a stonewash effect.
Wet heating of fabrics and clothing creates a variety of visual effects that enhance the appeal of the material being processed
Engineering is a known task. This processing is performed when the clothes are dyed indigo, and / or
Or garment in denim cloth, as in jeans, jackets and skirts, etc.
And in accessories and various non-garment articles made in the same way
Especially common.
A more common wet process is the polishing of indigo-dyed clothing, i.e.
"Nwash" is widely practiced industrially. Clearly aligned with industry terms
Then, "stone wash" is considered to be the following method. That is,
In a tumbler or washing machine water bath, mechanical friction of pumice stones or other abrasives
Therefore, by removing the dye from the cellulosic clothing or fabric, the ground color area with relatively no contact
Leave a minute spot on the fabric or clothing surface with local polishing to remove light spots and patches.
It is a method of creating a region. In addition, its polished by chemical or enzymatic means
The industry's methods of creating a fabric or garment-like appearance and its use in conjunction with mechanical polishing are also
Is recognized as being included in the definition of stonewash.
The most common type of enzyme that gives an improved appearance is cellulase.
Cellulase enzymes are typically divided into two groups. That is, the neutral pH range
(PH about 6 to 8) with the highest activity and acidic pH range (pH about 4
And 6) has the highest activity. Each type of enzyme can be used outside the above pH range
Although having some activity, these ranges represent pH values that exhibit optimal performance
Things. Both types are designed to provide a “stone wash” look.
Commonly used, both have advantages and disadvantages.
One of the advantages of neutral cellulase treatment is the indigo dye removed during the washing process.
Only a medium amount of red will re-attach to the white areas of the fabric and look bright and clean
To create stonewashed denim garments with light areas
You. The main disadvantage is that typically neutral cellulase enzymes are less acidic cellulase enzymes.
The reaction is slightly slower and the processing time is longer.
The main advantage of acidic cellulase treatment is that the cellulase enzyme reacts neutrally on fabric.
It is much faster. 2 less than similar treatment with neutral cellulase enzyme
And reaction times five times faster are not uncommon. The main disadvantage is indigo dissolution at low pH
More dye is redeposited on the garment, in part due to the lower degree.
Methods and compositions for chemically stonewashing fabrics and clothing are generally
For example, U.S. Patent Nos. 4,832,864, 4,912,056, and 5,
006,126 and 5,122,159. But jin
Fast-acting acidic cellulase enzyme treatment re-attaches the dyed material while processing it
Reduces the amount of dye to be applied, has bright and beautiful contrast parts, and is attractive
Improved composition and method for quick garments with a natural stone wash appearance
Law is required.
It is an object of the present invention to wet process dyed cellulosic fabrics and clothing,
Provides a way to chemically create a stonewashed look in a quick and effective way
It is to be.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a bright and beautiful color change with the dye removed (

The term "stone wash appearance" refers to the use of dyed cellulosic fabrics.
Includes localized areas of varying color density on the surface, including pumice or other "stones"
”Refers to the appearance that resembles the appearance made by mechanically polishing a fabric.
Stone wash is generally used in industrial washing machines, cylindrical tumblers,
This is done in converted dryers or similar equipment. Necessary to implement this method
Parameters are to be applied along with the article being processed, clothing, fabric or stonewashed.
Put the washing solution into the garment and allow the clothing or other substances to come into contact with the enzyme or other processing chemicals, or intermittently.
It is a means to make it. In addition, the surface of the article to be stonewashed may
Can rub against other surfaces, including fabric or stonewashed items
In order to be able to do this, there must be a means to introduce mechanical energy into the system. Washing
In the case of a washing machine or tumbler, this means that the clothes etc. move inward and rub against each other.
By rotating a cylinder containing clothes, etc. at such a speed that
Is done. For paddle dyeing machines, this is mounted at or near the surface of the working fluid
Achieved by the external paddle wheel. The paddle rotates to create a circulating flow. this
Streams and / or paddles may catch clothing and rub against other clothing and paddles.
Together, they go in a direction that produces the necessary mechanical action on the article.
The stonewashing process is a simple process for cellulase enzymes and / or pumice stones.
It does not consist of exposure but typically consists of several steps. Clothes are typically first
(A) amylase enzyme and surfactant, (b) oxidizing agent, alkali and surfactant
The desizing is carried out using a surfactant, (c) a solvent and a surfactant, or (d) hot water. This
This is often followed, but not required, by one or more rinses. After this, usually polishing

Indigo dye is the most common used in stonewashed fabrics and clothing
The concept of stonewashing is a cellulosic fiber, single yarn,
Or partially or wholly made from twisted yarn and the colorant is a vat dye (e.g.
Ndigo), pigments (or pigment dyes), sulfur dyes, or other classes of dyes
Even if there is a color difference between the surface and the center of the fiber, single yarn or twisted yarn
Applies to all fabrics, clothing or articles that are dyed, pigmented or colored
You. The main concept is that the fibers or single yarns are "ring dyed", ie dyed.
The outer appearance of the fiber is dyed dark at the outermost ring and lightly dyed at the center
Be (or not at all) distracted. Stone wash
The process damages the outermost part of the cellulosic fiber and the fiber is not dyed (
Or expose the center).
