Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.まぶしさの遮蔽体あるいは溶接ガラスフィルタに好適な液晶シャッター構 造体(18)にして、該シャッター構造体は、電気信号に応答して、高い光吸収 暗状態と低い光吸収透明状態との間で切り替わることができ、また、その逆にも 切り替わることができ、該シャッター構造体は、電圧源(22)に接続可能な透 明な電極装架板間に配置された2つのネマチック形液晶セルを含んでおり、また 、前記セルは、互いに面している表面で分子整合方向を確定するよう処理された コーティングを備えており、それにより、該板間での相互角方向変位により、前 記板上の電極コーティング間に電圧が存在しない場合、液晶が捻られたヘリック ス構造体を形成し、前記セルは相互に消弧する偏光フィルタ間に各々装架されて おり、分子整合方向は回されて電圧が適用される際に前記2つのセルのそれぞれ の非対称光吸収間の補償効果を得るようになっており、前記分子整合方向間の前 記セルの捻る角方向変位のうちの少なくとも一方は90°異なっている液晶シャ ッター構造体(18)において、前記電極が装架された板に適用され得る可変の セル駆動電圧を発生させるための手段(20)を有し、前記手段(20)は前記 液晶セルのうちの少なくとも一方に対してしきい電圧よりも2倍高いセル駆動電 圧を、1ヘルツよりも低い極性切り換え周波数で作り出すよう工夫されているこ とを特徴とする液晶シャッター構造体(18)。 2.請求の範囲第1項に記載のシャッター構造体において、整合方向間の角度 は、伝送密度値、あるいは、シャッターのシェード数が、前記液晶セルの少なく とも1つに対してしきい電圧よりも2倍高いセル駆動電圧において9乃至15の 範囲内で可変であるようになっていることを特徴とするシャッター構造体。 3.請求の範囲第1項に記載のシャッター構造体において、前記セルのうちの 少なくとも1つの整合方向間の角方向変位は0°及び85°間の角度を有してい ることを特徴とするシャッター構造体。 4.請求の範囲第1項または第2項のいずれか1つに記載のシャッター構造体 において、前記整合方向間で90°角方向ねじれが異なっている液晶セルの厚み は、該厚みと、異なる偏光方向に対する液晶材料の最高及び最低屈折率間の差と の積が多くとも0.4mmであるようにされ、各セルは多くとも70°の前記分 子方向を決定するコーティング間の角方向差を有していることを特徴とするシャ ッター構造体。 5.請求の範囲第4項記載のシャッター構造体において、前記厚みは多くとも 0.3mmであることを特徴とするシャッター構造体。 6.請求の範囲第1項から第5項までのいずれか1つに記載のシャッター構造 体において、2つのセルは基本的に同じであり、電圧源はそれらセルに等しい電 圧を適用するようにされていることを特徴とするシャッター構造体。 7.請求の範囲第1項から第6項までのいずれか1つに記載のシャッター構造 体において、間にそれぞれのセルが装架されている前記偏光フィルタは、互いに 90°の角度で交差する偏光方向を有していることを特徴とするシャッター構造 体。 8.請求の範囲第1項から第7項までのいずれか1つに記載のシャッター構造 体において、コーティングを画成する分子整合方向が90°よりも下の相互角方 向変位を有している前記セルのうちの少なくとも1つは偏光フィルタ間に装架さ れており、該偏光フィルタの偏光方向はそれぞれの最も近いコーティングの方向 に一致していることを特徴とするシャッター構造体。 9.請求の範囲第1項から第8項までのいずれか1つに記載のシャッター構造 体において、90°異なっている整合方向間の鋭角の二等分線は、2つの周囲の 偏光フィルタの偏光方向間の二等分線と、概ね、平行であることを特徴とするシ ャッター構造体。 10.請求の範囲第1項から第9項までのいずれか1つに記載のシャッター構 造体において、前記液晶のうちの少なくとも1つは、一方で、厚みの積と、異な る偏光方向に対する液晶セルの最高屈折率及び最低屈折率の差との間の関係を有 しており、他方で、第6図に示されたカーブ上の点に対応する前記整合方向間の 角度を有していることを特徴とするシャッター構造体。 11.請求の範囲第1項から第10項までのいずれか1つに記載のシャッター 構造体において、前記セルの少なくとも1つに対し、整合方向間の角方向変位は 0°と50°との間の角度を示しており、遅延フィルムが液晶セルに関連して配 備されていることを特徴とするシャッター構造体。 12.請求の範囲第1項から第11項までのいずれか1つに記載のシャッター 構造体において、可変セル駆動電圧を発生する前記手段は電圧源(22)に接続 可能な電圧入力部(24)を備えた電子回路(20)と、出力セル駆動電圧の極 性を制御するための電圧極性切り換え手段(26)とを有しており、該電圧極性 切り換え手段(26)は駆動電圧制御手段(28)に結合されており、該駆動電 圧制御手段(28)は制御信号入力部(30)を備えているとともにセル駆動電 圧入力部(32)に結合されていることを特徴とするシャッター構造体。 13.請求の範囲第1項から第12項までのいずれか1つに記載のシャッター 構造体において、可変セル駆動電圧を発生する前記手段(20)は、周囲光検出 器(22)に接続可能な検出器入力部(24)を備えており、該周囲光検出器( 22)は、シェード選択手段(30)に接続可能な電圧レギュレータ(34)を 有していることを特徴とするシャッター構造体。 14.請求の範囲第1項から第13項までのいずれか1つに記載のクリスタル シャッター構造体において、前記電圧極性切り換え手段は発振器あるいはフリッ プフロップ回路であることを特徴とするクリスタルシャッター構造体。 15.請求の範囲第1項から第14項までのいずれか1つに記載のシャッター 構造体において、該シャッター構造体は溶接ガラス遮蔽体に適用された溶接ガラ スフィルタであり、あるいは、該シャッター構造体は光学増幅器望遠鏡あるいは 双眼鏡のごとき光学機器に適用されていることを特徴とするシャッター構造体。
