Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.炭化ケイ素相および結合相を含む反応結合型炭化ケイ素耐火物品であって、 炭化ケイ素相は物品の約65重量%ないし約85重量%を成し、結合相はシリコ ンオキシナイトライドおよびアルミナ両者の相当(appreciable)量を含有する 、反応結合型ケイ素耐火物品。 2.標準浸食試験をうけた時に、50mgより小さい重量損失を示す請求項1の 耐火物品。 3.1100℃で500時間蒸気酸化をうけた時に、5%より小さい体積増加を うける請求項1の耐火物品。 4.耐火物品のどの部分も1重量%より多い遊離シリコンを含まない請求項1の 耐火物品。 5.約60重量%ないし約85重量%の炭化ケイ素、約5重量%ないし約16重 量%のケイ素、約5重量%ないし約14重量%のアルミナ、約1重量%ないし約 7重量%のシリカを含む未焼成物体を焼成することによって製造される反応結合 型炭化ケイ素耐火物品。 6.炭化ケイ素が約5mm以下の大きさの粒子の混合物を含む請求項5の耐火物 品。 7.ケイ素が約74マイクロメートル以下の大きさの粒子の混合物である請求項 5の耐火物品。 8.アルミナが少なくとも約2m2/gの表面積を有する反応性のあるアルミナ である請求項5の耐火物品。 9.原料バッチが固体を約88重量%と約98.5重量%の間および媒体を約1 .5重量%と12重量%の間含む反応結合型炭化ケイ素耐火物品を製造するため の原料バッチ。 10.固体が約60重量%ないし約85重量%の炭化ケイ素、約5重量%ないし 約16重量%のケイ素、約5重量%ないし約14重量%のアルミナ、約1重量% ないし約7重量%のシリカを含む請求項9の原料バッチ。 11.固体が約65重量%ないし約80重量%の炭化ケイ素、約7重量%ないし 約14重量%のケイ素、約8重量%ないし約11重量%のアルミナ、約2重量% ないし約4重量%のシリカを含む請求項10の原料バッチ。 12.(a) 固体と媒体を含み、その固体が約60重量%ないし約85重量% の炭化ケイ素、約5重量%ないし約16重量%のケイ素、約5重量%ないし約1 4重量%のアルミナ、約1重量%ないし約7重量%のシリカを含む原料バッチを 調製し、 (b) その原料バッチを未焼成物体に処理し、 (c) 反応結合型炭化ケイ素物品を製造するのに十分な温度と時間で窒素ガス 雰囲気中でその未焼成物体 を焼成すること、 を含む反応結合型炭化ケイ素物品の製造方法。 13.上記の媒体が水を原料バッチの約4重量%と約7重量%の間の量含み、そ の原料バッチを鋳型の中に加えることおよび上記の鋳型からその未焼成物体を回 収することによって原料バッチが未焼成物体に処理される請求項12の方法。 14.上記の媒体が結合剤を原料バッチの約2重量%と約7重量%の間の量含み 、その原料バッチを鋳型に加圧することおよび上記の鋳型からその未焼成物体を 回収することによって原料バッチが未焼成物体に処理される請求項12の方法。
