Metering system for devices for coating strips, especially paper or carton strips
Technical field
The invention relates to a strip material, in particular paper or carton, of the type described in the preamble of claim 1.
A metering system for a device for coating a strip.
In order to coat paper or carton strips, a known method is used.
A coating system in which the material is overcoated, followed by the excess until the desired coating weight is reached.
A device with a doctor element metering system for scraping off with. This application and preparation
The amount can be directly on the strip, in the area wrapped around the roller or indirectly.
Tying, again on a roller on which the strip is wound, which is then metered
The coating material film is transferred onto the strip material.
Background technology
According to DE-A-3022955, a doctor bed made of rubber elastic material
A metering system of the type mentioned at the beginning with a retained doctor rod has become known.
There is. The doctor bed is mounted in a holder connected to the machine frame and
It is supported by the pressure tube on the back side opposite to the doctor rod side. In this system
Via the tube pressure of the metered film thickness (coating weight) on the roller or strip
Changes within a certain limit. It is uniform across the working width
In order to produce a large profile, the doctor rod should be
This is because it is necessary to press. Necessary to get a uniform profile
The pressing force is at the metering gap between the roller or strip and the doctor rod,
If the pressure is higher than the hydrodynamic corresponding pressure acting in the opposite direction from the corresponding roller.
In this case, the applied weight is hardly affected by the pressing force.
Such a relatively narrow adjustment range causes irregularities across the working width of the strip and / or roller.
Is further limited by. Locally high application weight due to irregularities in the lateral profile
In the event of a pressure increase the pressing force in order to regenerate a uniform lateral profile.
There must be. This also limits the amount of coat weight that can be applied.
It
A similar problem is that a doctor rod with a circumferential groove is used, which results in a volumetric metering.
Is carried out, in short when the coating weight is primarily defined through the groove cross section.
Also occurs. Such a metering system is insensitive to changes in tube pressure and
, Resulting in a relatively large pressure change if there is local irregularity,
Such pressure changes affect the entire working width, in short the range that should not be corrected.
.
Disclosure of the invention
The object of the present invention is to set the adjustment range of the coating weight in the metering system of the type described first.
Being able to expand, in particular to obtain high application weights with uniform application.
And there.
This problem is solved by means having the features of claim 1.
According to the present invention, the error caused by the restriction of the metering system in order to make the coating weight uniform
To compensate for this, the pressing force generated by the pressure tube is applied across the working width.
Can be locally adjusted to different values. This limits the range of application weight
Expand. This is because local irregularities are when the coating weight is adjusted.
Will no longer affect the entire working width.
Yet another advantage is that, for example, to compensate for variations in thickness in the paper strip.
Produces different coating weights in each area to reduce the coating thickness at the edges of the strip.
Can be tightened.
The dependent claims describe advantageous configurations of the invention.
Brief description of the drawings
The drawings are schematic illustrations of embodiments of the invention.
FIG. 1 is a vertical sectional view of a metering system of the present invention,
FIG. 2 is a partial cross-sectional view.
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
The metering system shown in FIG. 1 is for coating paper or carton strips.
Part of the device, in which the pre-metered coating material of coating material
A material film is first formed on the roller 1 and then from this roller 1 separate from the roller 1.
It is applied to the strip within the press nip between the press roller. Roller 1 is shown accordingly
1 is partially wound with a band material in a range not shown. this
A coaching device of this type is described, for example, in DE-A-3417487.
There is.
In addition, for example, on a strip-shaped paper as shown in DE-A-3022955.
A metering system for direct metering is likewise used. In this case, the roller 1 is shown in FIG.
A strip of paper or carton is wrapped around the area having the defined metering system.
This metering system comprises a doctor rod 2 as a metering element, which rod
, In the doctor bed 3 which is partially open towards the roller 1, by means of a rotary drive.
It is rotatably supported. The doctor rod 2 has a diameter of 8 to 50 mm, preferably
Coaching device, which is 10-25 mm and can reach 10 m in length
It corresponds to the working width of. The doctor rod 2 is made of special steel and its outer peripheral surface
Is coated for wear resistance, such as chrome or ceramic coating.
Have been. The doctor bed 2 holding the doctor rod 2 has a Shore hardness of about 8
0 elastic material, preferably rubber elastic material, in the present case rubber
Made of. In the doctor bed 3 there is a passage open towards the doctor rod 2.
The passage 4 has been machined and running water is introduced into the passage as a lubricant and a cleaning agent.
It
The doctor bed 3 is supported in a bed holder 5 which is open towards the roller 1.
And to prevent the coating material from entering the holder 5 on the roller 1 side.
In addition, it has two swallow-tailored tenters. The back of the doctor rod 2 side
In the holder 5, the doctor bed 3 extends laterally across the working width and
1 is supported by a pressure tube 6 which exerts a pressure in the direction toward 1.
The probe is arranged in a corresponding recess of the holder 5. The pressure tube 6 is
It consists of spaced pressure chambers 6.1 to 6.4, each of which can be seen in FIG.
It has one unique pressure air supply 7. These supply parts have pressure chambers 6
. In order to be able to regulate the pressure separately within 1 to 6.4,
The pressurized air is loaded separately. Advantageously the pressure tube 6 with respect to the doctor rod 2
Are connected to the doctor bed 3 via central webs extending in parallel. Chi
The tube 6 can be arranged separately on the back side of the doctor bed 3 or
It is also possible to manufacture them integrally.
As can be seen from FIG. 2, the individual pressure chambers 6.1 to 6.4 are located on the back side of the doctor bed 3.
Due to the fact that one row of pressure tubes 6.1-6.4 are arranged directly next to each other,
Is formed. But also the pressure tube separated by a single, intermediate wall
It is also possible to use a bus.
The individual pressure chambers 6.1 to 6.4 measure approximately 3 parallel to the doctor rod 2.
It has a length of 00 to 500 mm. This length is problematic, especially for strips.
Areas along the edges that are short and have no problems, such as roller 1 or strip
It can be lengthened in the middle range. But also there are problems along the edges
Place a separate pressure chamber only in the area and work with low tube pressure in this area.
It is also possible to do so.
For the tube 6 or 6.1 to 6.4, the manufacturing error does not affect the good adjustment operation.
The thinnest possible chirps to avoid any hysteresis effects.
The tube wall (wall thickness ≤ 3 mm) is made of rubber elastic material. Tube 6 is a roller
A flat tube having a height of 20 to 50 mm parallel to the tangent line of 1 and
Manufactured, that is, its thickness in the radial direction with respect to the roller 1 is smaller than its height
. Between the individual pressure chambers 6.1 to 6.4 when using a divided pressure tube 6.
The bulkhead is also made of rubber, preferably made of the same material as the tube 6 with the same wall thickness.
As a result, even in the boundary area between the pressure tubes 6.1 to 6.4, the doctor
It is advantageous to have the same effect on the head 1.
The tube 6 is supported in the holder on its back side opposite to the doctor bed 3 side.
Is important. In the case of the exemplary embodiment shown, the doctor bed 3 and the check
One common holder 5 is provided for the tube 6. But again, the doctor
It is also possible to attach the bed 3 and the tube 6 to their own holders
And these holders are commonly adjustable in this case towards the roller 1, eg
It can be mounted in an adjustable support frame, for example.
In the embodiment shown, the doctor bed 3 is moved in the direction towards the roller 1 in the required adjustment stroke.
Be movably supported in the holder 5 within the limit of friction as much as possible.
The holder is tightly tightened in a tightening beam 9 fixed to the support beam 8.
There is. The support beam 8 is a roller 1 or a strip material mounted on the roller 1.
In order to create a preselected gap between the rod and the doctor rod 2, the roller 1
It is adjustable in the direction towards. Pressurized air connection 7 is removed from the hole on the back side of holder 5.
And pressure is adjusted individually in each pressure chamber 6.1-6.4.
To be able to
Therefore, it is connected to a pressure air supply (not shown) via an adjustable valve.
The coating system 11 is arranged in front of the metering system when viewed in the direction of rotation of the roller 1 (arrow 10).
ing. In the illustrated example, a nozzle coating device having a coating chamber 12 is provided,
The application chamber is closed at its outlet end by a metering system. Coating room 12 is on
Overflow that ends a little distance before the roller 1 at the mouth end
Limited by the plate 13 and consequently via an adjustable supply passage 14
Part of the supplied coating material overflows on the inlet side, resulting in a coating chamber
The invasion of air and dust into the inside 12 is prevented.
Before starting the coaching process, first adjust the support beam 8
The gap between the rod 2 and the roller 1 is adjusted in advance. Next, the inside of the coating chamber 12
Excessive coating material is applied to the roller 1. Pressure chambers 6.1-6.4 are pressurized air
, Which results in the doctor rod 2 being pressed against the roller 1. Do
The kuta rod 2 scratches the excess coating material until it reaches the desired coating weight.
take. The associated tube segment (pressure) in relation to the applied weight in the individual roller range
A positive pressure of 0.3 to 1.3 bar is produced in the force chambers 6.1 to 6.4). 1 division
The higher the pressure at, the lower the coating weight in that section. This
If the coating weight is equalized and it is necessary,
Different coating weights are deliberately adjusted to individual ranges. Applied to roller 1
The coating material is then transferred in a press nip onto a strip of paper or carton
.
In a similar fashion, coach from the coating chamber 12 or another coating system, such as a roller coating system.
A method of directly applying the sealing material onto the strip material can also be carried out. Doctor in this case
The rod 2 is brought into contact with the strip material, and the coating material amount is directly measured on the strip material in the above-mentioned manner.
To do.
