Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.乾燥耐性突出幼根を有する予備発芽種子。 2.乾燥耐性が少なくとも幼根の胚軸領域に位置するものである、請求項1記載 の種子。 3.乾燥耐性突出幼根が胚軸領域から原始根を形成できるものである、請求項1 記載の種子。 4.種子がネギ属、キンギョソウ属、シュウガイドウ属、アブラナ属、トウガラ シ属、カボチャ属、トマト属、シクラメン属、フダンソウ属、ナデシコ属、ガザ ニア属、ガーべラ属、ツリフネソウ属、ミゾカクシ属、タバコ属、テンジクアオ イ属、ツリバネアサガオ属、クサキョウチクトウ属、サクラソウ属、ダイコン属 、アキギリ属、ナス属、センジュギク属、クマツヅラ属、ツルニチニチソウ属、 スミレ属、マツバゼリ属、キコリウム、ニンジン属およびヒャクニチソウ属から なる群に代表される植物から選択されるものである、請求項3記載の種子。 5.全種子水分含量が幼根の成育を実質的に阻害するに十分な程低く、他の代謝 過程を継続させるに十分な程高い、請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の種子。 6.全種子水分含量が種子重量の35〜55%の範囲にある、請求項5記載の種 子。 7.全種子水分含量が商業的に入手可能な非発芽種子と実質的に同じである、請 求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の種子。 8.全種子水分含量が4〜12重量%の範囲にある、請求項7記載の種子。 9.乾燥耐性突出幼根が乾燥耐性誘導を行っていない同種の種子の突出幼根と比 較して、上昇したシュークロース濃度を有するものである、請求項1〜8のいず れかに記載の種子。 10.乾燥耐性突出幼根が、幼根またはその部分の重量の3〜15%までの範囲 のシュークロース含量を有するものである、請求項9記載の種子。 11.種子が被覆種子である、請求項1〜10のいずれかに記載の種子。 12.請求項1〜11のいずれかに記載の種子由来の植物。 13.発芽種子を突出幼根に乾燥耐性を誘導するような環境条件にさらすことを 特徴とする、発芽種子の突出幼根に乾燥耐性を誘導する方法。 14.(i)発芽種子を突出幼根に乾燥耐性の誘導をするような環境条件にさら し、(ii)その種子を実質的に商業的に入手可能な非発芽種子の水分含量までド ライ・バックし、それによって水分含量が代謝過程を実質的に停止させるような 濃度に達する前に種子幼根が乾燥耐性を獲得するのに十分なように乾燥工程(ii )をゆっくり行うことを条件として、工程(i)の条件下で乾燥耐性誘導が達成 される前にに工程(ii)を開始させてもよいようにすることを特徴とする、乾燥 耐性突出幼根を有する保存可能発芽種子を得る方法。
