Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a truly effective hair restorer which consists of the extract of Rubia plants or the purpurin included therein or its glycoside as an effective component. CONSTITUTION: This hair restorer contains purpurin or its glycoside as the effective component. More particularly the purpurin and its glycoside as well as the plant extract contg. the same exhibit an extremely effective hair growing effect. The Rubia plants are preferably Rubia radix, Curcumae Rhizoma, R. tinctorum L, etc., and more particularly the roots and rhizomes of these plants are preferable. The compounding ratio of the effective components is preferably specified to 0.1 to 25 wt.% in terms of the dry matter when the extract of the Rubia plants is used, to 0.01 to 1.0 wt.% when the purpurin is used and to 0.02 to 2.0 wt.% when the glycoside of the purpurin is used.
