(b) Prior art Limited area communication systems are being put into practical use under the name LAN. The specific configuration of this LAN is shown in Figure 1. In the figure, 1, 1... are workstations located in limited areas, for example, in each room in the same building, where various types of information such as correspondence are input, information is read, and transmissions are performed. It is composed of input sections 2, 2, . . . for giving commands, and output sections 3, 3, . . . for displaying received information, etc. Reference numeral 4 denotes a signal line connecting these workstations, which is composed of a coaxial cable or an optical fiber cable. Reference numeral 5 denotes a file server connected to this signal line 4, which serves information for each workstation 1, 1..., specifically input from the workstations 1, 1... input section 2, 2... It performs skills such as storing information and outputting the stored information in response to requests from the workstations 1, 1, . . .

In such a configuration, in order to send a message such as sending a document from one workstation 1 to another workstation 1, 1, etc., the input section 2 of the sending workstation 1 is operated to initiate the communication. Enter a sentence. As a result, the message is on signal line 4
At the same time, a message indicating that the correspondence has been received is displayed on the output section 3 of the receiving workstation 1, 1, . . . . Then, on the receiving workstations 1, 1, . FIG. 2 shows an example of a message displayed on the display unit 3. In addition, to display that a message has been received, there is a column 6 that displays the number of messages immediately after "MAIL" at the top left of the display example in Figure 2, and if there is a message, the number is displayed. Depending on the situation, it indicates arrival, and if it is zero, it indicates that the message has not arrived.

On the other hand, the file server 5 stores messages as described above, but some of these messages are delivered to all workstations 1, 1, etc., while others are delivered only to a specific workstation. There are some things. Therefore, as shown in FIG. 3, the file server 5 has a message storage unit 7, 7, . . . for each workstation, and each storage unit 7, 7, . It has storage areas 8, 8, . . . of multiple addresses so that it can store data. The number of messages stored in the storage areas 8, 8, . . . is displayed in the display column 6 shown in FIG. 2, and it is indicated that the messages have arrived. If a plurality of messages have arrived in the storage areas 8, 8, . . . , they are read out in order from the document that arrives first.

Even in the case of such an emergency communication, it is not possible for the receiving side to know the request for the emergency communication by simply displaying the number of arrived documents in the display field. Furthermore, in a configuration in which documents are read out in the order in which they arrive, the reading of emergency documents is delayed, making it impossible to achieve the original purpose.

(E) Embodiment FIG. 4 is a block diagram showing the main parts of the system of the present invention, and 10 is a message memory provided in the file server 5 corresponding to each workstation 1, 1, . . . The section has storage areas 11, 11, etc. numbered as 0, 1, 2, . Identification areas 12, 12, . . . into which 1” is introduced are provided.
13A is the identification area 1 of each storage area 11, 11...
The detection circuit 13A is a detection circuit that outputs a detection signal when the index "1" is introduced into any of the workstations 1, 1...
The detection signal of the detection circuit 13A is applied to the display drive circuit 14 and speech synthesis circuit 15 provided for each workstation 1, 1, . . . Reference numeral 13B denotes a message switching means that rearranges the messages in order of urgency when messages with a high degree of urgency are stored in the storage areas 11, 11, . . . The display drive circuit 14 has a display 16 for visually indicating that an emergency message has reached the workstation. The display 16 may be a single display lamp as shown in the figure, or a system may be adopted in which the number of correspondence display column 6 is displayed blinking as shown in FIG. The speech synthesis circuit 15 also includes a speaker 17.
is followed by a voice to notify the arrival of an emergency message. Note that the notification means includes a display drive circuit 14 and a display 16, or a voice synthesis circuit 15 and a speaker 17.

(F) Effects of the Invention As is clear from the above description, the present invention, when a highly urgent message is sent, notifies the notification means of the destination workstation of the arrival signal, so that the emergency message is not sent. The operator can be reliably informed of the arrival of the emergency communication, and the original function of emergency communication can be fulfilled.
