Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable a TCP to be mounted on the front and the rear of two glass plates at prescribed positions by a method wherein a liquid crystal display element is fixed to a jig by the single chucking operation of a fixing means, and the fixing means is turned by an angle of 180 deg.. CONSTITUTION:A mounting jig 10 is supported by a pin 20 at a frame 21 in a freely rotatable manner, and a locating pin 23 closely inserted into a hole 22 in a freely slidable manner is inserted into a hole 34, whereby the jig 10 can be fixed. In this state, a TCP(tape carrier package) 2a is mounted on a glass plate 1b of a liquid crystal display element 1. Then, the mounting jig 10 is turned by an angle of 180 deg. to the frame 21, and the locating pin 23 is inserted into the holes 22 and 24 again to fix the jig 10 to the frame 21. By this setup, the liquid crystal display element 1 can be rotated by an angle of 180 deg. and fixed without unclamping the element 1 from a jig, whereby a TCP 2b can be mounted on a glass plate 1a through a hole provided to the mounting jig 10.

[Prior Art] As described in Japanese Patent Application Laid-open No. 61-252692, a conventional method of working on a plate-shaped part from the front and back is to move the plate-shaped part by the thickness of the jig, chuck it again, and then re-chuck it. Later, a method was proposed in which the plate-shaped part was inverted along with the jig.

[Problems to be Solved by the Invention] The above-mentioned conventional technology does not take into account the fact that it targets fragile parts such as parts made of glass plates, and it is difficult to apply the parts to liquid crystal display elements. There was a high risk of damage, and there were problems with product yield.

[Means for Solving the Problems] In order to achieve the above object, the liquid crystal display element driver IC mounting jig according to the present invention has electrodes formed on each of them, and a certain gap in the direction in which the respective electrical connections face each other. During the assembly process, in which TCPs are mounted vertically and horizontally on two glass plates that are held together and bonded together, and the liquid crystal is sealed in the space formed by the gap, the yield decreases due to damage to the glass plate, which is a brittle material, and Due to the change of TCP installation work,
In order to eliminate the need to replace jigs for the liquid crystal display element and make it compatible with automation, we provided a liquid crystal display element fixing means to chuck the liquid crystal display element, and an opening for performing TCP mounting work from the front side. The fixing means is provided in the liquid crystal display element fixing means, further fixing the liquid crystal display element.
A fixing means for rotating and fixing by 0° is provided, and the TCP can be mounted on the front and back sides of two glass plates of the liquid crystal display element by chucking the liquid crystal display element once.

[Function] The above-mentioned liquid crystal display element driver IC mounting jig fixes the liquid crystal display element made of a fragile glass plate to the jig with one chuck operation, and then rotates the fixing means 180 degrees while maintaining the state A. By fixing it, TC is applied to the front and back of the two glass plates.
It is possible to mount each P in a predetermined position.
