Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide the subject cultivation soil having a suitable water-retaining property, preventing root rots and suitable for cultivation of vegetables, fruits, flowers or fruit trees by adding specific amounts of compost and slow-acting granular fertilizers to a rock wool fine granule fabric as main components and further adding other fertilizer components to the main mixture. CONSTITUTION:5-30 pts.wt. of a compost and 5-25 pts.wt. of slow acting fertilizers as main components are added to 100 pts.wt. of a rock wool fine granule fabric, and other fertilizer components (e.g. magnesia lime, potassium silicate, calcium nitrate, etc.) are further added to the mixture to provide the objective cultivation soil.

A method has also been proposed in which rock wool is used not as a molded product but as so-called fine-grained cotton. Although this method improves waste disposal, fine-grained cotton has too high water-holding capacity and has problems with roots, and there are also the drawbacks of using liquid fertilizer, so it is not practical enough. There wasn't.

When cultivating plants using the cultivating soil of the present invention, for example, about 1 kg of the cultivating soil of the present invention per cultivated plant is placed in a container set on the soil surface to form a culture medium surface, and seedlings are grown using rock wool cubes on top of this. Plant the seedlings and water them with the required amount of water from the surface. If necessary, additional fertilizer such as liquid fertilizer can be applied.

According to the present invention, the overall water retention capacity is maintained appropriately by mixing with compost, so it is possible to avoid root piles that occur in conventional fine-grained cotton cultivation. Further, since liquid fertilizer is not required or can be largely saved, the cultivation cost can be significantly reduced. The culturing soil of the present invention is suitable for the cultivation of vegetables, fruit vegetables, flower petals, and fruit trees, and is also excellent for horticultural use.
