Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 〔産業上の利用分野〕 本発明は航空機、小型船舶用構造物の製作に有利に適用
することができる強化繊維と熱可塑性樹脂とよりなる複
合材構造物の製造方法に関する。
〔従来の技術〕
従来の強化繊維と熱可塑性樹脂よりなる複合材(以下、
熱可塑複合材という)によって製作された構造物の1例
を第4図に示す。従来は熱可塑複合材の接合は接着又は
融着にたよっており、強度が低かった。また、加熱型接
着剤を用いた場合には、製品全体を加熱炉に入れるため
、大型の加熱炉が必要であった。さらに、また融着によ
り母材を溶かして接合する場合には、誘導加熱のため接
合部に金属シートを入れる方法があるが、この金属シー
トは接合部に異物として残り、強度低下の要因となって
いた。さらに、また、超音波を用いて融着しても樹脂に
よる接合であり、繊維で補強された高強度の母材強度に
はおよばず、充分な強度は得られなかった。
〔発明が解決しようとする課題〕
従来の熱可塑複合材によって製作された構造物では、接
合手法を接着又は融着にたよっており、複合材繊維の強
度を接合部に生かすことができず、強度の低いものとな
っていた。また、接着を行う場合にしても、強度の高い
加熱型接着剤を用いた場合には、製品全体を加熱炉に入
れるため、施設として大型の加熱炉が必要であった。ま
た、融着により熱可塑複合剤を熱により溶かして接合す
る場合には、誘導加熱又は超音波加熱を利用するが、誘
導加熱では接合部に誘導による熱をおこすために金属シ
ート又は金属メツシュを入れる必要があり、これが融着
後も接合部に異物として残り、強度低下の原因となって
いた。また、超音波加熱を利用した場合も樹脂を融着す
るのみであり、複合材繊維の強度を接合部に生かすこと
ができず強度の低いものとなっていた。
本発明は上記技術水準に鑑み、従来の製品における以上
の問題点を解消させ、複合材の強化繊維強度を接合部に
生かし、大型の加熱炉も不要であり、金属シート、金属
メツシュ等の異物が接合部に残らない新規な熱可塑複合
材構造物の製造方法を提供しようとするものである。
〔課題を解決するための手段〕
本発明は熱可塑複合材の構造物を熱可塑複合材の釘を用
いて組み立てることを特徴とする熱可塑複合材構造物の
製造方法である。
本発明は上記構成の熱可塑複合材構造物であるが、その
材料である熱可塑複合材とは強化繊維と熱可塑性樹脂よ
りなるものである。熱可塑複合材としては、これらのも
のを接着又は融着してなる積層熱可塑複合材も包含され
る。
本発明の熱可塑複合材構造物は熱可塑複合材よりなる釘
で組立てられるが、この組立に際しては熱可塑複合材を
超音波で加熱して溶かして明けた穴に熱可塑複合材より
なる釘を入れる方法が推奨される。
〔作用〕
本発明において使用する熱可塑複合材の釘は、接着又は
融着による樹脂接着の強度よりも強度の高い強化繊維に
よる接合を可能とし、接合強度を上昇させる。また、材
質が熱可塑性であるため、熱により溶融し、接合後固着
する。このため、穴を超音波加熱により溶融し、また熱
可塑複合打釘の表面を加熱溶融して接合することにより
冷却後、釘は強固に固定される。また、接合強度は、釘
の長さ、太さ、本数を変化させることにより調節可能で
ある。
〔実施例〕
本発明の第1実施例によって製造された熱可塑複合材構
造物の概略図を第1図に、第2実施例によって製造され
た同構造物の概略図を第2図に示す。また、製造工程の
1例を第3図に示す。
第1実施例では、熱可塑複合材2の構造物を熱可塑複合
材の釘1を用いて組み立てている。
また、 第2実施例では接着又は融着部4で熱可塑複合
材の接着又は融着された構造物3を熱可塑複合材の釘1
を用いて補強している。
第1実施例、第2実施例とも第3図に示す製造工程で製
造される。熱可塑複合材2は超音波加振機5で加熱して
穴明けを行なわれる。このようにして明けられた穴は、
加熱により軟化する材料の性質のために、軟化部6を生
じる。ここに熱可塑複合材の釘1を埋め込む。この熱可
塑複合材の釘1は、そのまま埋め込んでもよいが、前も
って熱により表面を溶かしておくと、接合力がより強固
なものとなる。埋め込まれた熱可塑複合材の釘1は、軟
化部6が冷えることにより冷却硬化部7となることで固
定される。
〔発明の効果〕
本発明方法により製作された構造物は、接着又は融着に
より製作した構造物よりも高強度が望める。これは、複
合材の強化繊維の強度を接合部に生かすことが可能なこ
とによる。また、このような手法により製作される製品
は、施設としての大型加熱炉を必要としない。さらに誘
導加熱を利用した融着に見られるように金属シート又は
金属メツシュを接合部に残し強度低下の原因となること
もない。

よって製作された熱可塑複合材構造物の概略図、第3図
は本発明の製法の一実施例の工程図、第4図は従来の接
着又は融着によって製作された熱可塑複合材構造物の概
