Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 〔産業上の利用分野〕 本発明は無機または有機からなる強化繊維に熱可塑性
樹脂を含浸させた繊維強化複合材からなる接合部材の接
合方法に係り、特に接合部材の間に、単体の導電性材料
或いは導電性材料と樹脂とからなる誘導発熱体を配置
し、接合面近傍に設けた高周波誘導加熱コイルに通電す
ることにより前記誘導発熱体を誘導加熱し、接合部近傍
の接合部材と誘導発熱体とを一体に溶融固化してを接合
を行う繊維強化複合材からなる接合部材の接合方法に関
する。
〔従来の技術〕
熱可塑性樹脂或いは繊維強化複合材からなる接合部材
を短時間に接合する方法として、接合される部材の間
に、単体の導電性材料或いは導電性材料と樹脂とからな
る誘導発熱体を配置し、前記誘導発熱体を接合面近傍に
設けた高周波誘導加熱コイルによって誘導加熱し、接合
部近傍の接合部材と誘導発熱体とを一体に溶融固化して
接合部材を接合する方法は従来より知られている。この
接合方法の誘導発熱体として以下の種々の提案がされて
いる。
米国特許第S/N738,816号明細書及び特開昭62-263025
号公報には、誘導発熱体として金属又は他の導電性材料
からなる網或いは膜を用いる前述の接合方法が示されて
いる。
また特開昭62-263025号公報には、接合される部材の
接合面に導電性塗料を塗布し、高周波誘導加熱コイルに
よりこの導電性塗料層を誘導加熱し、この熱により部材
を接合する前述の接合方法が示されている。
さらに特開昭第60-56534号公報には、前記誘導発熱体
として、熱可塑性樹脂に金属の単繊維を一定比率混入し
たものを用いる前述の接合方法が示されている。
〔考案が解決しようとする課題〕
しかしながら、上述の米国特許第S/N738816号明細書
及び特開昭62-263025号公報に示された接合方法は、金
属等の導電性材料からなる網又は膜が接合部にそのまま
残留し、金属等の導電性材料の高い密度のため接合部が
重くならざるをえず、軽量であることを要求する航空宇
宙構造物への適用には難点があり、さらに接合部には金
属等が内在し、この接合部が著しい温度の変化にさらさ
れるような場合には、金属と樹脂との熱膨脹率が異なる
ため、接合部に割れや剥離が生じやすく、航空宇宙構造
物には不適であるという問題点があった。
特開昭第60-56534号公報に示されたような、誘導発熱
体として熱可塑性の樹脂に金属の単繊維を一定比率混入
したものを用いる接合方法は、300℃以上で流動性を発
現する熱可塑性の樹脂に金属繊維を均等に拡散分布させ
る製造技術が困難であり、さらに上述のように接合部が
熱衝撃に対して割れや剥離を生じやすいという問題点が
あった。
特開昭第62-263025号公報に示されているような導電
性塗料を樹脂の接合面に塗布又は印刷する方法は、印刷
面の前処理工程を必要とし、製造工程が複雑であるとい
う問題点があった。
そこで、本発明の目的は、接合部が軽量であり、か
つ、熱衝撃に対して接合部の割れや剥離が生じない接合
方法を提供することにある。
〔課題を解決するための手段〕
上記目的を達成するために、本発明による繊維強化複
合材からなる接合部材の接合方法は、無機または有機か
らなる強化繊維に熱可塑性樹脂を含浸させた繊維強化複
合材からなる二つの接合される部材の間に、単体の導電
性材料或いは導電性材料と樹脂とからなる誘導発熱体を
配置し、接合面近傍に設けた高周波誘導加熱コイルに通
電することにより、接合部近傍の接合部材と誘導発熱体
とを一体に溶融固化して接合を行う繊維強化複合材から
なる接合部材の接合方法において、接合部材の強化繊維
と同一種類の繊維の表面に導電性材料をコーティングし
た誘導発熱繊維に、接合部材の母材と同一種類或いは相
溶性を有する熱可塑性樹脂を含浸させた誘導発熱体を接
合部材の間に配置し、この誘導発熱体を誘導加熱するこ
とにより接合部近傍の接合部材と誘導発熱体とを一体に
溶解固化して接合を行うことを特徴とするものである。
〔作用〕
本発明では、接合部材の強化繊維と同一種類の繊維の
表面に導電性材料をコーティングした誘導発熱繊維に、
接合部材の母材と同一種類或いは相溶性を有する熱可塑
性樹脂を含浸させた誘導発熱体を用いて接合部材を接合
することにより、接合後の接合部は部材の他の部分と同
一の強化繊維を有するとともに、接合部の母材と部材の
他の部分の母材と同一又は類似の性質を有する。したが
って、接合部には金属等が介在せず、接合部は軽量化さ
れ、さらに熱衝撃を受けたとき、接合部は部材の他の部
分と同一の熱膨張率を有するため割れや剥離を生じな
い。
〔実施例〕
以下本発明による繊維強化複合材からなる接合部材の
接合方法を第1図及び第2図を参照して説明する。
第1図は本発明の誘導発熱体の断面を拡大して示して
いる。符号1は誘導発熱体をあらわし、この誘導発熱体
1は、接合部材(図示せず)の強化繊維と同一種類の繊
維2に導電性材料3をコーティングした誘導発熱繊維4
に、接合部材の母材と同一種類或いは相溶性を有する熱
可塑性樹脂5を含浸させることにより形成されている。
第2図は上述の誘導発熱体1を用いた本発明による繊
維強化複合材の接合方法の一実施例を示す。接合部材10
と11の接合部の間に前記誘導発熱体1を配置し、さらに
接合部材10と11を挟むようにして両側に周波数300KHz乃
至3MHzの高周波誘導加熱コイル12と13を配置する。この
高周波誘導加熱コイル12と13に高周波電流を流し、電磁
誘導により誘導発熱体1に誘導電流を惹起し、この誘導
電流によって生じるジュール熱によって接合部材10と11
の接合面と誘導発熱体1とを一体に融合する。部材10と
11の接合面と誘導発熱体1とが完全に融着した後、高周
波誘導加熱コイル12と13への電流を遮断し、接合部を一
体に固化させて接合を完了する。
なお、誘導発熱繊維4の混入形態は、長繊維を一方向
に引き揃えたもの、織物状にしたもの及び短繊維を任意
方向に混入したもののいずれの混入形態でもよい。ま
た、誘導発熱体1の熱可塑性樹脂5として、接合部材1
0,11の母材と相溶性があり、かつ、融点が前記接合部材
の母材の融点より低い熱可塑性の樹脂を使用した場合に
は、接合部材に対して熱影響が少ない接合を行うことが
できる。
〔発明の効果〕
以上の説明で明らかなように、本発明によれば、繊維
強化複合材からなる接合部材の強化繊維と同一種類の繊
維に導電性材料をコーティングした誘導発熱繊維に、接
合部材の母材と同一種類或いは相溶性を有する熱可塑性
樹脂を含浸させた誘導発熱体を接合部材の間に配置し
て、誘導加熱により接合を行うので、接合部は接合され
る部材の他の部分と同一或いは類似の構造と物性とを有
する。
すなわち、本発明によれば、接合部は接合部材の他の
部分と比重をほぼ同じにでき、金属を誘導発熱体とする
接合方法の接合部に比べて軽量化することができる。さ
らに、接合部は接合部材の他の部分と同一の熱膨張率を
有し、熱衝撃に対して割れや剥離を生じない航空宇宙構
造物に適した接合を得ることができる。

  1. 【請求項1】無機または有機からなる強化繊維に熱可塑
    性樹脂を含浸させた繊維強化複合材からなる二つの接合
    される部材の間に、単体の導電性材料或いは導電性材料
    と樹脂とからなる誘導発熱体を配置し、接合面近傍に設
    けた高周波誘導加熱コイルに通電することにより、接合
    部近傍の接合部材と誘導発熱体とを一体に溶融固化して
    接合を行う繊維強化複合材からなる接合部材の接合方法
    において、接合部材の強化繊維と同一種類の繊維の表面
    に導電性材料をコーティングした誘導発熱繊維に、接合
    部材の母材と同一種類或いは相溶性を有する熱可塑性樹
    脂を含浸させた誘導発熱体を接合部材の間に配置し、こ
    の誘導発熱体を誘導加熱することにより接合部近傍の接
    合部材と誘導発熱体とを一体に溶融固化して接合を行う
    ことを特徴とする繊維強化複合材からなる接合部材の接
    合方法。
