【発明の詳細な説明】
(産業上の利用分野)
本発明は皮膚の角if層構造を緻密化し、水分保持機能
を高める皮膚化粧料に関する.
(従来技術)
老化皮膚とは乾燥して滑らかさのない荒れた肌で、角質
細胞の剥#現象が認められ、結合組織はコラーゲン/エ
ラスチン比が高<、皺が多い.老化皮膚は細胞代謝機能
の低下により角質層のターンオーバーが遅く、従って皮
膚に老化防止効果が付与発現すると、ターンオーバーが
速くなると言われ、種々の皮膚細胞賦活戒分及び血行促
進威分を含有した化粧料が提案されている.しかし、そ
れらの戒分を単独で含有してなる皮膚化粧料は、充分に
皮膚老化防止効果を発現するものではなかった.
(発明の開示)
皮膚は、個体を外的環境から守る役割.即ち異物の侵入
を防ぎ、体液の喪失を防ぐ役割を果たしている.皮膚の
水分は、真皮から表皮の基底細胞層、更に角質層へと外
層に向うにつれて減少し、角¥tI!を通して外部へ蒸
散している.この水分蒸散は主に角’iIl!の緻密な
細胞組織からなる防御機能により制御されているが、通
常にみられる乾燥皮膚(ドライスキン)あるいは老化皮
膚にみられる乾燥皮膚では、皮膚の水分保持機能が低下
していることが認められる.これは、それら乾燥皮膚が
、角質層の防御機能による通常の制御限界を超えた状態
にあるか、あるいは該防御機能が衰えていることに由来
するものである.従って、角質層及び層仮顆粒の組織を
緻密化し、その防?2]la能を賦活することができれ
ば、これによって皮膚の水分保持機能が冗進され、皮膚
は健常な状態に保持されると共に、乾燥皮膚の改善ない
しは修復が可能となるのである。更に、老化皮膚の低下
した細胞代謝機能を高め、かつ角質層のターンオーバー
が冗進した場合には、皮膚の老化防止効果が発現したと
言える.
そこで、本発明者らは、鋭意研究した結果メリロート草
の花あるいは葉より得た抽出物に、優れた皮膚賦活作用
が存在することの知見を得た.更に、ビタミンEおよび
そのエステル類の少なくとも一種と本抽出物とを含有し
てなる化粧料を皮膚に適用した時には、角質層構造を緻
密化し水分保持機能を高め、かつ角質層のターンオーハ
ーを促進し、乾燥皮膚を改善し、あるいは皮膚を健常な
状態に保持してその老化を防ぎ、皮膚に湿潤性(しっと
り感)、柔軟性(滑らか感)、弾力性を与える美肌効果
を有することを見出し本発明を完威するに至った.
(発明の目的)
本発明の目的は、荒肌改善効果,角質改善効果等の皮膚
老化防止効果と美肌効果に優れた皮膚化粧料を提供する
ことにある.
(課題を解決するための手段)
本発明は、ビタミンEおよびそのエステル類の少なくと
も一種とメリロート草の花あるいは葉より得られる抽出
物とを含有してなる皮膚化粧料に関する.
本発明に用いるメリロート草の花および葉は公知の物質
であり、古くより鎮咳薬,香料として用いられたもので
ある.
その抽出物を得るには、周知の抽出方法で行なえば良く
、乾燥させたメリロート草の花.葉を水で洗浄した後、
細砕し、その重量の5〜lO倍量の水或いは含水アルコ
ール(通常、エチルアルコール濃度lO%以下)と共に
煮沸または冷浸し、次いで沖別して得られた抽出液を濃
縮し、更には水またはアルコールを減圧除去し、乾燥す
れば目的の抽出物が得られる.
また、上記の水或いは含水アルコールによる抽出液を、
更に多孔性ボリスチレン系樹脂吸着剤(例えばダイヤイ
オンHP、三菱化戒工業ftl’lJ)で処理し、吸着
物をアルコール或いは含水アルコール(エチルアルコー
ル濃度約50%以上)で溶離して得られた抽出液を乾燥
して本発明に適用する抽出物を得ることができる.この
ようにして得られた抽出物は淡緑黄色を示し、芳香性を
有し、保存安定性および皮膚刺激性などに於いて良好な
特性を有するものであった.
本発明に用いられる上記抽出物の含有量は、本発明の皮
膚化粧料の全重量に対して好ましくはo. o o s
〜2. O重量%(以下wt%と略記する)更に好まし
くは0.01〜l, Q w t%である.0. 0
0 5 w L%より少ないと効果は十分でなく、’l
, Q w t%を越えてもその増量分に見合った効果
は期待できない.
本発明に用いるビタミンE及びエステル化合物は公知の
物質であって、例えばビタミンE、ビタミンEアセテー
ト,ビタミンEニコチネート,ビタミンEサクシネート
.ビタミンEリノレート,ビタミンEオロテートなどが
挙げられる.ビタミンEとは、α一トコフエロール,β
一トコフエロール,r−}コフエロール,δ一トコフェ
ロール等或いはこれらの混合物を指す.これらのビタミ
ンEエステル化合物は、それらはいずれも本発明の皮膚
化粧料に適用することができ、各々単独でもしくはその
2つ以上のd合物として皮膚化粧料に配合される.
本発明に於ける、ビタミンE及びそのエステル化合物の
含有量は好ましくは0. 0 0 5 w L%〜2.
Q w t%である.0.005wt%より少ないと効
果は十分でな<2.Ow’t%を超してもその増量に見
合った効果は期待できない.
本発明の皮膚化粧料は、例えばクリーム類.乳液類,ロ
ーシッン類,パック類等に適用することができる.
・尚,本発明の皮膚化粧料には上記の他に色素,香料,
防腐剤,界面活性剤.顔料.抗酸化防止剤等を本発明の
目的を達戒する範囲内で適宜配合することができる.
また、本発明の皮膚化粧料の皮膚老化防止効果を評価す
るために用いた荒肌改善効果試験、角質改善効果試験、
美肌効果試験(実用テスト)の試験方法は下記の通りで
ある.
(1)荒肌改善効果試験
下脚に荒れ肌を有する中高年被験者20名を対象として
4週間連続塗布効果を調べた.被験者の左側下vJ試験
部位にl[Tll回約1gの試料を娑布し、試験開始前
及び終了後の皮膚の状態を下記の判定基準により肉眼判
定した。右側下脚は試料を塗布せず対照とした.
