Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は、例えばワイヤ式の印字ヘツドにより
衝撃的に印字を行なうインパクト式プリンタに関
する。
インパクト式プリンタは同時に複数枚のコピー
を形成することができる利点があるが、このコピ
ー能力（コピー枚数）を上げるには、これまでは
印字ヘツドに大電流を印加するなどして印字エネ
ルギを大きくするしか無かつた。そのために、(1)
電力消費が大きくなる。(2)印字ヘツドの発熱が高
くなる。(3)ヘビーデユーテイ印字ができない。(4)
ヘツド寿命が短かくなる。などの欠点を生じてい
た。
本発明は上記実状に鑑みて発明したものであつ
て、印字ヘツドの外部より印字エネルギが補給さ
れることを特徴とする。
実施例について説明すると、ガイド軸１，１に
摺動自在に受けられているキヤリツジ２上にイン
パクト式印字ヘツド３が装備されている。印字ヘ
ツド３は、例えばワイヤ方式、活字ボール方式ま
たは花弁型活字ホイール方式など周知のものが適
宜に適用できる。印字ヘツド３の前方には円筒状
のプラテン４が配置して、記録紙が両者の間に通
されている。６はインクリボンである。プラテン
４は、例えば硬質ゴムなどで形成したものであつ
て、印字ヘツド３にて印字を行なうとき回転駆動
される。
印字ヘツド３に駆動電流が印加されると、その
印字要素（図示せず。）がインクリボン６および
記録紙５をプラテン４に強く押し付けることによ
つて記録紙５に印字が為されるが、印字要素がイ
ンクリボン６および記録紙５をプラテン４に押し
付けた瞬間に、プラテン４はその回転によつて記
録紙５とインクリボン６を逆に印字要素に対して
擦りつけるように作用する。そしてこれによつて
得られた印字結果は、従来の静止プラテンの場合
よりも濃く形成され、また複数枚の同時コピーを
行なうときはそのコピー枚数を多くできる。この
ことはプラテン４の回転エネルギの一部が印字エ
ネルギに利用されることを意味する。なお記録紙
５は図示しない紙送り装置によつて改行される。
上述した本発明によれば、大きな駆動電流を印
加することなしに印字エネルギを高めることがで
きるから、コピー能力を上げる場合に消費電力の
増加やヘツドの発熱等の問題を生じることがな
く、それによつてヘビーデユーテイ印字が可能で
あり、またヘツド寿命の低下を招くことがない。
１枚の記録紙に印字する場合は、文字等をこれま
でと同じ濃さに形成するのに小さな駆動電流で済
む。

  1. １ 記録紙を介してインパクト式の印字ヘツドと
    対向するプラテンが、印字動作時に回転駆動され
    ること、を特徴とするインパクト式プリンタ。
