(Background of the Invention) It has been considered to drive a heat pump compressor with an engine that uses gas such as city gas or propane gas as fuel, that is, a gas engine.
When the main parts of such a heating and cooling system using a heat pump are housed in one case to form a unit, it is desirable that maintenance and inspection be easy. For example, the main parts of a heat pump, excluding the indoor heat exchanger, may be housed in a single case to form a unit, and this unit may be installed outdoors, but depending on the installation location, this unit may have three or two sides. The unit may be surrounded by a wall or the lower part of the unit may be surrounded by a wall. For this reason, especially for engines that use gas engines, which require not only inspection and maintenance of the engine's air cleaner, oil filter, lubricating oil level, and spark plugs, but also lubricating and replacing the lubricating oil. Inspection and maintenance may become difficult to perform, and the placement of the engine intake and exhaust ports may become difficult.

This embodiment uses heat generated by a gas engine to heat water and store hot water. In FIG. 1, reference numeral 10 is a water-cooled gas engine, and 12 is a compressor. The output of the engine 10 drives the compressor 12 via a clutch 14 (FIG. 1). Air is drawn into the engine 10 via the air cleaner 16 and the regulator 18, while gas as a fuel, such as city gas, is supplied to the regulator 18, where a mixture of gas and air is generated and fed to the engine 10. Inhaled. Note that this regulator 18 automatically controls the air flow rate and gas flow rate so as to keep the rotational speed of the engine 10 constant.

This heat pump operates as follows. During cooling, the switching valve 20 is positioned as shown by the solid line in FIG. Therefore, the working fluid that has been compressed to a high temperature by the compressor 12 is cooled by the outdoor heat exchanger 24, and then expands by the indoor heat exchanger 22, at which time it absorbs the heat of the indoor air. Then, the cycle of being compressed again by the compressor 12 is repeated. In addition, during heating, the switching valve 20 is positioned as shown by the imaginary line in FIG. It expands in the container 24 and takes in heat from the outside air due to the adiabatic expansion at that time. This working fluid then returns to the compressor 12 through the switching valve 20 and repeats the above cycle.

In FIG. 1, 26 is a hot water storage tank, and a heat exchanger 28 is disposed within this tank 26, and the cooling water for the engine 10 is circulated through this heat exchanger 28. That is, the water in this tank 26 is heated by the exhaust heat of the engine 10. Note that 30 is a valve for injecting water into this tank 26, and 32 is a valve that controls the amount of hot water flowing out from this tank 26. Further, reference numeral 34 is an auxiliary burner, which is ignited to heat the tank 26 when the amount of hot water used is large and the water temperature in the tank 26 drops.
This auxiliary burner 34, like the engine 10, uses gas as fuel.

In FIG. 3, 58 is an exhaust heat exchanger, and 60 is an exhaust silencer. Exhaust gas discharged from the exhaust muffler 60 is discharged to the outside through a small hole 62 provided in the front of the case 40. Note that the cooling water circulating between the engine 10 and the heat exchanger 28 is guided to the exhaust heat exchanger 58, and the exhaust heat is recovered here and transferred to the tank 2.
It is used to heat water in step 6. 6 in Figure 2
4 and 66 indicate inlets and outlets of cooling water to the engine 10, and 66a and 64a indicate inlets and outlets of cooling water to the heat exchanger 28 in the tank 26.

Further, in FIGS. 2 and 3, caps 68a and 68b are capped over small holes provided on the left and right sides of the case 44, and are installed at substantially the same height as the small holes 56. Further, 70a and 70b are caps that are similarly placed over small holes provided on the left and right side surfaces of the case 44 so as to be approximately at the same height as the small hole 62. These caps 68a, 68b, 70a,
70b as appropriate, and change the positions of the air intake and exhaust ports so that the intake ports of the air cleaner 16 and the exhaust port of the silencer 60 face the small holes that appear after removing the cap, the installation location of this unit can be changed. The positions of the intake and exhaust ports can be changed appropriately.

(Effects of the Invention) As described above, in this invention, the maintenance and inspection parts of the gas engine are exposed to the inspection opening provided in the square cylindrical case, so that the engine maintenance records can be inspected from one place. Even if this device is installed in a narrow space, maintenance and inspection will be easier. In addition, since at least one of the gas engine intake and exhaust ports is provided on the same surface as this inspection opening, if the case is surrounded by walls on three sides, two If the other side is surrounded by a wall or there is an obstacle in front of one of the exhaust and intake ports, you can move the exhaust port and one of the intake ports to the other side as necessary. The positions of the intake and exhaust ports can be changed appropriately depending on the installation location of the unit.
