Conventionally, in melon cultivation, melon vines are grown while being wrapped around a support, and before the melon fruit grows large enough that its weight can no longer be supported by the force of the vine wrapping around the support, the fruit is tied to the support with string. A method of attaching it was used. However, this method has the drawback that it requires a complicated and labor-intensive process of tying a large number of fruits one by one to a support using a string during the fruit growth process.

On the other hand, a method has been adopted in which melon vines are grown on ridges to produce fruit, but in this method, the melon fruit grows on ridges, so the fruit is deformed depending on the topography of the ridges. However, there was also a drawback of uneven coloring in various parts of the fruit.

The method for cultivating melons of the present invention uses a hard or semi-hard synthetic resin that has ropes on the ridges that are large enough to allow melon fruits to hang down in the young stage, and that can support the weight of melon fruits at the harvest stage. A support net shelf made of woven fabric is placed on the support net shelf, and vines that have grown from melon seedlings planted on the sides of this support net shelf are placed on this support net shelf, and the support net shelf is tied to the widthwise center of both longitudinal ends of the support net shelf. The melon fruit that has set on the vine is hung down through the mesh of the support net shelf to grow.

In FIG. 1, M indicates a ridge made for tunnel cultivation, and a support net shelf 1 is placed directly on this ridge M over almost its entire length, and along the side edges of this support net shelf 1. Then, melon seedlings 11 are planted at required intervals. Tunnel supports 18 are provided at regular intervals on the ridges provided in the open ground.
The film 20 can be opened and closed as required. The support net shelf 1 is made of a hard or semi-hard synthetic resin such as medium-low pressure polyethylene, polypropylene, polyvinyl chloride, ABS, etc. in a mesh shape, and supports the weight of fully grown melon fruits during the harvesting period. It has the strength you need. In addition, the support net shelf 1 is required to allow the fruit to hang down during the young stage and to maintain strength so as not to be significantly bent by the weight of the fruit at the harvest stage. 1 has a mesh 2 large enough to meet this requirement. As shown in FIG. 5, the corner portions 2a of the mesh 2 are rounded, and the lattice frame 3 is configured to have a rounded cross-sectional shape. In addition, mesh 2
In addition to the rectangular shape shown in the figure, it may be round or diamond-shaped; however, in the case of a rectangular shape, the length h of each side should be approximately 5 to 15 cm in order to meet the above requirements. It is hoped that

When the seedling 11 grows from the state shown in Fig. 1 and the vines 12 grow as shown in Figs. Wait until it reaches a certain point, and in the meantime perform any necessary maintenance such as thinning. Then, when the fruiting period begins, the support net shelf 1 is lifted to a required height. In this case, as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, at the beginning or when lifting, the string 4 is tied to the widthwise center of the longitudinal end of the support net shelf 1, and correspondingly,
As shown in FIG. 3, support piles 5 and arresting piles 6 are driven into the ground. These strings 4, support stakes 5, and trapping stakes 6 constitute a lifting means 7, and this lifting means 7 is also provided on the other end side of the support net shelf 1. Then, as shown in FIG. 4b, the end of the string 4' associated with one of the lifting means 7' is tied to the trapping stake 6' through the support stake 5'. To lift the support net shelf 1, the string 4 associated with the other lifting means 7 is pulled through the support stake 5, and when the support net shelf 1 is lifted from the ridge 11 to the required height, the string is pulled. As shown in FIGS. 3 and 4b, tie the ends of 4 to the trapping stake 6,
Fix the height position. In this way, the third
As shown in Figs. 4 and 6, when melon fruits 13 in the young stage are bearing fruit on the vine 12, the fruits 13 are pushed downward by their own weight through the mesh 2 of the support net shelf 1. If the fruit 13 has not yet set fruit, the fruit 13 will also sag due to its own weight as the fruit sets. In addition, the support net shelf 1 is deformed into a tunnel shape or a semi-cylindrical shape with both ends in the width direction hanging down in a curved manner due to its own weight and the weight of the vines 12 that have climbed up from the sides, so the support net shelf 1
Coupled with the fact that the rack itself is made of hard or semi-hard synthetic resin, it has great rigidity, effectively preventing each part of the support net shelf 1 from sagging or bending in the longitudinal direction. As a result, the vines 12 are prevented from gathering in one place on the support net shelf 1, which is extremely convenient for the growth of melons. Moreover, when the fruit 13 is hanging down from the mesh 2 of the support net shelf 1,
As shown in FIGS. 6 and 7, the vines 12 connected to the fruit 13 are stretched over each lattice frame 3 around the mesh 2, so the fruit 13
Even if the vines 12 are heavy, a situation in which the vines 12 are bent near the fruit 13 and damaged or rots at the bent point when the support net shelf 1 is lifted upward can be prevented. Such effects are extremely beneficial in cultivating melons, which are high-quality fruits. After this,
Wait for the fruit 13 to grow and become large, and after the fruit 13 has grown sufficiently in a hanging state without contacting the underlying surface, as shown in FIG. 4c, it is harvested.

In the above, when lifting the support net shelf 1, it is necessary to be careful not to damage the vines 12.
During the holding period, as shown in FIG. 5, the corner portions 2a of the mesh 2 of the support net shelf 1 are rounded, and the lattice frame 3 thereof is rounded to prevent the above-mentioned damage. useful for. Furthermore, during the above-mentioned holding period, as shown in FIG. 12 is prevented from moving laterally, and the branches and vines 12 can be fixed. Furthermore, if the fruit 13 becomes heavier as it grows and the support net shelf 1 is bent due to its weight, the lower part of the support net shelf 1 may be plated or coated with synthetic resin as necessary, as shown in FIG. The above-mentioned deflection may be prevented by interposing a plurality of support rods 8, which are curved and fixed by sticking both ends into the soil. The lattice frame 3 of the support net shelf 1 may be supported by protruding into the interior.

As detailed above, according to the present invention, fruits are hung while being reliably supported by a strong support net shelf made of hard or semi-hard synthetic resin,
Since the fruit grows hanging down from the support net without touching the ground, the entire fruit is exposed to sunlight, which prevents fruit deformation and color unevenness, making it possible to grow high-quality fruit. In addition, the work of hanging fruits from the support net shelf can be done by simply hoisting the support net shelf using strings after the vines of the plants have grown. This eliminates the need for complicated work, significantly reducing the labor required for cultivation, and improves rigidity by deforming the support net shelf suspended using strings into a tunnel or kamaboko shape as explained in the example. This prevents drooping, bending, and bending at various parts in the longitudinal direction, which also makes it possible to grow high-quality fruit. When the fruit is hanging down from the mesh of the support net shelf, the vines near the fruit are stretched over each lattice frame around the mesh, so when the support net shelf is lifted upward, etc. It also has the effect of preventing situations in which the vines bend near the fruit, causing damage or rotting at the bend. Furthermore, since the leaves of the plants remain on the support net shelf, these leaves create a greenhouse effect, and there is also the advantage that the space below the support net shelf makes it easier to spray disinfectants.
