誘引ヒモ4の必要な長さとは、フック1から垂らした誘引ヒモをトマト5に縛り付ける位置までの距離(畦上から50cm程度の高さで縛り付けるため、この場合は150cm)と、吊り下ろしを行う予定回数×50cm(フックに載せる誘引ヒモの長さ)、環状加工や樹体に縛るのに必要な長さを足した長さ(予備を含めて50cm程度)となる。(例:つり線高さ200cmで2回吊り下ろしを予定していれば、150cm+2×50cm+50cmで300cmとなる。誘引ヒモの種類は、巻きつけて加重がかかった時にトマトの樹体に食い込まないよう、硬くて細いものは避け、柔らかく太めな物が望ましく、長期間の使用にも耐えうる強度・耐候性を持ったものを選定する。

トマト5が誘引可能な状態まで生育したところで、定植位置より傾き方向に1m(フック二つ分)ずらしたフック1から下ろした誘引ヒモ4に、1段の果実がマルチに着かない程度の高さに調節して縛り、巻きつけて斜めに誘引する(図4)。
トマトの生育にあわせて巻きつけていき、目安として2段収穫終了後にフック1に載せておいた誘引ヒモ4をフック1から外し、吊り下げた後、巻きつける。この作業を、トマトの生育にあわせて繰り返す(図5)。
栽培終了時は、フック1から誘引ヒモ4の環状部分を取り外して落とし、連作障害回避のためにハウス外に持ち出す。
フックに載るだけの誘引ヒモを載せることは可能であるが、誘引ヒモ同士が絡まるなど作業が困難になるため、長期収穫時に誘引ヒモの全長が長すぎる場合は、1本の誘引ヒモを2つに分け、1本を環状加工してフックに引っ掛け、載せた後、そのヒモの先端にもう一方のヒモの先端をくくりつける。それでも吊り下ろし作業5回分(250cm)の誘引ヒモをフックに載せるのが限界と思われるため、それを超える回数の吊り下ろし方法として、100cmの誘引ヒモを環状に加工し、それをトマトの本数分用意しておき、吊りヒモの環状部分にくくりつける。環状ヒモを隣のフックに引っ掛けた後、吊りヒモの環状部をフックから取り外すことで、1段分の吊り下ろしが可能となる。
