Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.イメージ部材上に、異なる色の一連の複数の調色像を形成し、次いで順に無 端中間転写部材にそれらを転写する方式の多色像形成方法であって、前記中間転 写部材を前記イメージ部材に対して転写位置となるように繰り返し回転させつつ 、前記複数の調色像を一致させて前記中間転写部材表面に直接転写し、更にその 次のステップにおいて、前記中間部材からコピー用紙またはその他の転写面へ転 写する多色像の形成方法において、前記イメージ形成ステップが、前記イメージ 部材上に、同イメージ部材の移動方向にその長辺を一致させた大型の調色像を形 成すること、及び前記イメージ部材の移動方向にその長辺が直角となるように小 型の調色像を形成することの両方を含み、更に前記転写部材の周囲の長さが、連 続する複数の大型調色像の比較点の間の距離、及び連続する複数の対の小型調色 像の比較点の間の距離に実質的に等しいことを特徴とする多色像の形成手段。 2.少なくとも2つの連続する大型の静電潜像及び少なくとも2対の連続する小 型の静電潜像に、異なる色のトナーを供給することを特徴とする請求の範囲第1 項記載の多色像の形成手段。 3.移動するイメージ部材上に複数の静電潜像を形成するイメージ形成手段(1 ,3)と、各々の静電潜像を異なる色のトナーで調色する調色手段(4,5,6 ,7)と、前記複数の調色像を無端中間転写部材へ一致させて転写する転写手段 (109;91,110)と、合成された前記多色調色像を転写紙若しくはその 他の面に転写する転写手段(109:110)とを有する、請求の範囲第1項記 載の多色像の形成方法を実施するための静電画像装置において、前記イメージ形 成手段(3)が、前記イメージ部材(2)上に、同イメージ部材の移動方向にそ の長辺を一致させて複数の大型静電潜像を形成し、かつ同イメージ部材の移動方 向にその長辺を直角にさせて複数の小型の静電潜像を形成する形成手段を有して おり、前記転写手段の周囲の長さが、前記イメージ部材(2)上の複数の連続す る大型潜像の比較点の間の距離及び連続する複数の対になった小型潜像の比較点 の間の距離に、実質的に等しいことを特徴とする請求の範囲第1項記載の多色像 の形成手段を実施するための静電画像装置。 4.前記イメージ形成手段(3)が、電気信号に応答して静電潜像を形成する形 成手段と、イメージメモリ(17)と共働して、大型の像を形成するときは第1 のあらかじめ定められた順序に従い、小型の像を形成するときには第2のあらか じめ定められた順序に従って、同イメージメモリ内に蓄積された信号を前記イメ ージ形成手段に送る制御手段(18)とを有することを特徴とする請求の範囲第 3項記載の静電画像装置。 5.前記イメージメモリ(17)内に蓄積された電子イメージが、複数の多色像 の異なる色要素を表示し、かつ前記制御手段(18)が、前記静電画像装置が小 型の像を形成するときには、前記イメージ部材上の2つの異なる多色潜像の配置 の順序を交互にする切り替え手段を有していることを特徴とする請求の範囲第4 項記載の静電画像装置。 7.前記無端中間転写部材がドラム(109)であることを特徴とする請求の範 囲第3項記載の静電画像装置。 8.前記無端中間転写部材が無端ウェブであることを特徴とする請求の範囲第3 項記載の静電画像装置。
