Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は自動車の操舵装置として一般に用いら
れているラツクピニオン式ステアリング装置に関
するものである。

クピニオン式ステアリング装置が一般に用いられ
ている(例えば実開昭54−69532号公報、実開昭
55−132449号公報等参照)。

上記のようなラツクピニオン式ステアリング装
置は第1図に示すように、ステアリングホイール
1を一端部に取付けたステアリングシヤフト2の
先端部にジヨイント3を介して中間シヤフト4を
連結し、該中間シヤフト4にジヨイント5を介し
てピニオン軸6を連結し、ステアリングホイール
1を回転操作することによりピニオン軸6が回転
し、該ピニオン軸6のピニオン軸6aを噛み合う
ラツク軸7が軸方向に摺動して転舵を行うように
なつているが、上記転舵操作時ジヨイント3及び
5の二次トルクによりピニオン軸6に曲げモーメ
ントがかかり、特に第1図示のようにピニオン軸
6が長い場合上記ジヨイントの二次トルクによる
曲げモーメントにより、該ピニオン軸6支持用ベ
アリング9部のフリクシヨンが増大すると言う問
題が生じる。

と、3個のベアリング間のラインスルーの精度が
必要で製作が極めて厄介となり且つ高価になると
言う問題を生じる。

上端部近傍位置に被支持面6bを形成し、ギヤケ
ース8の該被支持面6bに対向する位置に中間ベ
アリング9cを、その内周支持面が上記ピニオン
軸6の被支持面6bに所定の微少隙間δをもつて
対向するよう設けたことを特徴とするものであ
る。

持面6bの一部が中間ベアリング9cに摺接して
該たわみを最少限度に止め両端ベアリング9a,
9b部のフリクシヨンの増大を防止するものであ
る。

で、該中間ベアリング9cとしては両端ベアリン
グ9a,9bのようなボールベアリングを用いる
必要はなく、例えば焼結ブツシユのような簡単な
構造のもので充分所期の機能を果すことができ、
コスト上極めて有利であると言う利点をも有する
もので、実用上多大の効果をもたらし得るもので
ある。

ケースに装着してなるラツクピニオン式ステアリ
ング装置において、ピニオン軸の上端部近傍部分
及び下端部分とを上下のベアリングにてギヤケー
スに回転可能なるよう支持させると共に、該ピニ
オン軸の上下のベアリングによる支持部のほぼ中
間位置となるピニオン歯上端部近傍位置に被支持
面を形成し、該被支持面に微少隙間をもつて対向
する中間ベアリングをギヤケースに設けたことを
特徴とするラツクピニオン式ステアリング装置。
