Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明はワイヤボンダー用ワイヤクランパに関
する。
ワイヤボンダーには、ワイヤが巻回されたスプ
ール側にワイヤを引き出す時に生じるワイヤ自体
の慣性により必要以上のワイヤが引き出されるこ
とを防止するために、ワイヤを軽くクランプする
ワイヤクランパが設けられている。
従来のワイヤクランパは第１図に示すような構
造よりなる。即ち、ワイヤ１は２個のワイヤ押え
板２，３によつて挾持される。一方のワイヤ押え
板２はフレーム４に固定されている。他方のワイ
ヤ押え板３はフレーム４に固定された第１の板ば
ね５に固定されており、この第１の板ばね５にフ
レーム４に固定された第２の板ばね６が当接して
いる。そして、フレーム４に螺合された荷重調整
ねじ７で第２の板ばね６のばね力を調整し、ワイ
ヤ１のクランプ力を調整するようになつている。
なお、８は荷重調整ねじ７を固定するためのナツ
トである。
しかしながら、かかるワイヤクランパは、ワイ
ヤが接続される第１ボンド点から第２ボンド点に
キヤピラリが移動する時にワイヤボンダに生じる
振動と慣性力により、板ばね５，６が変形するた
め、クランプ力が変化する。また２個のワイヤ押
え板２，３でワイヤ１をクランプするため、ワイ
ヤ押え板２，３のワイヤクランプ面は鏡面仕上げ
をしなければならなく、コスト高になる。更にワ
イヤ押え板２，３のワイヤクランプ面の平行度
は、ワイヤ１を平均的にクランプさせるために、
かなりの精度が要求される。特に20〜40μｍの極
細ワイヤはこの傾向が著しい。この平行度の調整
は板ばね５を曲げて行わなければならないので、
多大の調整時間がかかり、更に長時間使用してい
る内に板ばね５が変形して平行度がくるつてしま
う等の欠点があつた。
本発明は上記従来技術の欠点を除去したワイヤ
ボンダー用ワイヤクランパを提供することを目的
とする。
以下、本発明を図示の実施例により説明する。
第２図は本発明の一実施例を示し、ａは縦断面
図、ｂはａの左側面図である。ハウジング１０
は、一端が開口したマツト収納部１１を有し、開
口部１２側の端面にはワイヤ１をガイドするため
のガイド溝１３が形成されている。またハウジン
グ１０は開口部１２と反対側に空気吸込穴１４を
有し、この空気吸込穴１４は図示しない配管チユ
ーブを介して真空発生装置に接続されている。前
記マツト収納部１１には、空気を良く通すことが
できるマツト２０が収納されており、ワイヤ１を
ガイド溝１３に通した後に空気をあまり通さない
又は全く通さない押え板３０が配設されている。
前記マツト２０としては、例えば空気を良く通す
ポリウレタンフオーム等のスポンジ類、フエルト
類等を使用する。前記押え板３０としては、例え
ば空気を通しにくい上質紙、フエルト類を使用す
る。
そこで、空気吸込穴１４から矢印方向に空気が
吸込されると、押え板３０はマツト２０を通して
マツト２０側に吸込される。これにより、ワイヤ
１はマツト２０と押え板３０とでクランプされ
る。このクランプ力の調整は真空圧を調整するこ
とにより行える。
このように、押え板３０をマツト２０側に真空
吸着することによりワイヤ１をクランプするの
で、ワイヤボンダーの振動や慣性力によつてクラ
ンプ力が変化することがない。また押え板３０と
マツト２０との平行度を調整する必要がなく、ま
た長時間の使用によつて平行度が劣化することも
ない。また真空圧によつてクランプ力を調整する
ので、その調整が容易で、小さなクランプ力でワ
イヤ１をクランプすることができる。
以上の説明から明らかな如く、本発明によれ
ば、クランプ力が変化することもなく、またクラ
ンプ力の調整が容易で小さなクランプ力にするこ
ともできる。また平行度の調整が不要で、平行度
が劣化することもない等の効果を有する。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. １ 一端が開口し他端に空気吸込穴が形成された
    マツト収納部を有し、前記開口部の端部にワイヤ
    をガイドするためにガイド溝が形成されたハウジ
    ングと、前記マツト収納部に収納され空気を十分
    通すことができるマツトと、前記ガイド溝に挿通
    されたワイヤを介して前記マツトに接するように
    前記マツト収納部に配設され空気をあまり通さな
    いまたは空気を全く通さない押え板とからなり、
    前記空気吸込穴から空気を吸込んで前記マツトを
    通して前記押え板を吸着し、前記ワイヤをクラン
    プすることを特徴とするワイヤボンダー用クラン
    パ。
