Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 この発明は金属プレートを用いた骨折接合方法に関する
骨折の手術において、金属プレートと螺子による固定方
法が、最も広く行われているが、この金属プレート固定
にも、いろいろ問題点がある。特に体内固定材の金属プ
レートの剛性との、バランスがとれない場合、骨は癒合
するが、骨組識が生理的に体内固定材の金属プレートに
頼って正常に発達しないで、委縮して強度が低下する。
元来骨は、周囲が固く、内部骨髄が柔らかい円筒状をし
ており、力学的強度をもっているが、強力な金属プレー
トが当っていた部分は、骨皮質がスポンジ状に軟化して
、骨皮質の海綿骨化現象を呈する。骨が癒合した後、金
属プレートを抜去すると、僅かな外力で再び骨折するこ
とが少くない。
これが現在問題になっている。
この対策として、生体の骨と同程度の剛性を持った固定
材料が理想であるが、種類が多過ぎる反面、需要量との
関係もあって、実現困難な状況にある。
この発明は、骨の剛性に合わせて、導い金属プレートを
複数個重ねて使用することによって、骨と金属プレート
との剛性のバランスを計り、骨組識の正常な癒合を助長
して、骨の委縮現象を防止して、金属プレート抜去後の
、再骨折の頻度を減らすことにある。
具体的には、導い金属プレートを多数用意しておき、剛
性の弱い骨の骨折には２枚、強靭な骨の骨折には４枚重
ねて使用し、螺子で固定する等その例である。
現今では、前腕骨、上腕骨、大髄骨などその剛性係数は
、実験で容易に測定できるので、各部位の骨の剛性に適
合した金属プレートの、必要枚数を決定して使用するこ
とができる。
図によって説明すれば、第１図の金属プレートＡは、螺
子の頭部（２）が表面に突出しないように、螺子座にし
ぼりこみ（５）を設けた、従って裏面に対象的に突起部
（４）ができる。第３図及び第４図の、金属プレートＢ
の穴（３）に、金属プレートＡの突起部（４）が入り重
ねると１体となる。
金属プレートＡを単体で、骨折接合に使用する時は、突
起部（４）に相当する穴を骨にあけて、安定させるが、
金属プレートＢなど複数個重ねて使用する場合はその必
要はない。

  1. 骨折接合手術において、複数の薄い金属プレートを重ね
    合わせて、骨と螺子で固定することを特徴とする、体内
    固定方法。
