Description
本発明の固体電池は、正極層と、負極層と、これらの間に介在して配置される固体電解質層と、から構成される。そして、この固体電解質は、正極層と接触している正極側電解質層と、負極層と接触している負極側電解質層と、を備えており、固体電解質は、正極層と接触している正極側電解質層の正極側の面積と、負極層と接触している負極側電解質層の負極側の面積と、が異なっていることを特徴とする。
本実施の形態に係る固体電池10は、図1に示すように、固体電池セルが複数積層されており、電極層(負極層2又は正極層3)と、固体電解質1と、が交互に積層されて構成されている。各固体電池セルの間に絶縁体を備えていないため、絶縁体を備えた固体電池と比べるとエネルギー密度は高い。負極層2又は正極層3にはそれぞれ集電タブ4、5が接続されており、集電タブ4、5は固体電池セルの端面から延出しており、この集電タブ4、5から電気を取り出すことができる。
固体電解質は、正極側電解質層と負極側電解質層と、から構成される。これらの層は正極及び負極の間に積層され、少なくとも固体電解質材料を含有する。これらの層に含まれる固体電解質材料を介して、正極活物質及び負極活物質の間のイオン伝導(例えばリチウムイオン伝導)を行うことができる層である。
正極は、正極集電体と、正極集電体の両表面に形成された正極層とを備えて配置される。
負極は、負極集電体と、負極集電体の両表面に形成された負極層とを備える。
図2の固体電解質とは異なる固体電解質の他の態様について図5、図6を用いて説明する。
本実施の形態に係る固体電池10を製造する方法は、特に制限はされず、例えば図1の構成になるように、各層を積層してプレスしてもよく、例えば、予め、シート状の2枚の固体電解質膜を積層して、図2のような正極側電解質層1aと負極側電解質層1bとからなる固体電解質1を製造して、その後、図1の構成になるように、各層を積層してプレスしてもよい。

- 正極活物質を含有する正極層と、
負極活物質を含有する負極層と、
前記正極層及び前記負極層の間に介在して配置される固体電解質と、を備える固体電池であって、
前記固体電解質は、前記正極層と接触している正極側電解質層と、前記負極層と接触している負極側電解質層と、を備え、
前記固体電解質において、前記正極側電解質層の正極側の面積SSE2と、前記負極側電解質層の負極側の面積SSE1と、が異なり、
前記負極側電解質層の負極側の面積S SE1 が前記正極側電解質層の正極側の面積S SE2 よりも大きく、
前記負極側電解質層の厚さは、前記正極側電解質層の厚さよりも小さい
固体電池。 - 前記負極側電解質層の厚さは50nm以上である
請求項1に記載の固体電池。 - 正極活物質を含有する正極層と、

前記固体電解質において、前記正極側電解質層の正極側の面積S SE2 と、前記負極側電解質層の負極側の面積S SE1 と、が異なり、
前記正極側電解質層と、前記負極側電解質層と、の間にはさらに中間電解質層を備え、
前記中間電解質層の正極側の面積及び前記中間電解質層の負極側の面積が、前記面積SSE1及び面積SSE2よりも大きい
固体電池。 - 前記固体電解質を構成する少なくとも1つの層の端部が面取りされている
請求項1から3のいずれかに記載の固体電池。
