まず、前記扁平断面ガラス繊維の表面をシランカップリング剤含有組成物で被覆し、3mmの長さに切断して、チョップドストランドとする。次に、前記チョップドストランドとポリアミド6樹脂(宇部興産株式会社製、商品名:UBE1015B)とを、スクリュー回転数を100rpmとして、二軸混練機(芝浦機械株式会社製、商品名:TEM-26SS)にて270℃の温度で混練し、ガラス繊維含有率が50質量%の樹脂ペレットを作製する。
まず、前記樹脂ペレットを用いて、射出成形機(日精樹脂工業株式会社製、商品名:NEX80)により金型温度80℃、射出温度270℃にて射出成形を行い、JIS K 7165:2008に準じたA型ダンベル試験片(厚さ4mm)を成形する。前記A型ダンベル試験片について、試験温度23℃の条件で、精密万能試験機(株式会社島津製作所製、商品名:オートグラフAG-5000B)を用いて、JIS K 7171:2016に準拠した静的曲げ試験を行うことにより曲げ強度を測定する。
前記扁平断面ガラス繊維の表面をシランカップリング剤含有組成物で被覆して得たガラスストランドを、カッター(切断刃)を等間隔で放射状に取り付けたカッターローラと、これに接触して回転し、外周面にゴムを装備させたゴムローラとの間に送り込んで切断させるようにした長繊維切断装置によって3mmの長さに切断することにより、240時間チョップドストランドを製造する際の、該カッターの交換回数を計測する。
まず、表1に示す組成A~Cのいずれかの組成となるように調合されたガラス原料(ガラスバッチ)を溶融炉に供給し、1450~1550℃の範囲の温度で溶融し、得られた溶融ガラスを、200個のノズルチップを備えるブッシングから引き出して、複数本の扁平断面ガラスフィラメントを得て、該複数本の扁平断面ガラスフィラメントを集束させて、扁平断面ガラス繊維を製造した。
実施例1~4、比較例1~7の各扁平断面ガラス繊維および、参考例1の円形断面ガラス繊維を30日間製造したときに、実施例1~4、比較例1~4の各扁平断面ガラス繊維を構成する扁平断面ガラスフィラメント、又は、参考例1の円形断面ガラス繊維を構成する円形断面ガラスフィラメントに切断が起きた回数を計測した。1シフトを8時間として、1シフトあたりの平均切断回数を紡糸切断回数とした。紡糸切断回数が、1シフトあたり9回未満である場合を「A」、1シフトあたり9回以上10回未満である場合を「B」、1シフトあたり10回以上である場合を「C」と判定した。
実施例1~4、比較例1~7の各扁平断面ガラス繊維および、参考例1の円形断面ガラス繊維の表面をそれぞれシランカップリング剤含有組成物で被覆して得たガラスストランドを、カッター(切断刃)を等間隔で放射状に取り付けたカッターローラと、これに接触して回転し、外周面にゴムを装備させたゴムローラとの間に送り込んで切断させるようにした長繊維切断装置によって3mmの長さに切断することにより、240時間チョップドストランドを製造する際に該カッターの交換回数を計測し、20回未満であったものを「A」、20回以上30回未満であったものを「B」、30回以上であったものを「C」と判定した。
前記反り測定用試験片の一角を平坦面に接地した際に、該平坦面に接地された一角と対角の位置にある一角と平坦面との間に発生する距離をノギスで測定した。反り測定用試験片の四角のそれぞれを平坦面に接地した場合について、前記距離を測定し、各測定値の平均値が、5.0mm以下であるものを「OK」、5.0mm超である場合を「NG」と判定した。
前記A型ダンベル試験片について、試験温度23℃の条件で、精密万能試験機(株式会社島津製作所製、商品名:オートグラフAG-5000B)を用いて、JIS K 7165:2008に準拠した静的引張試験を行うことにより引張強度を測定し、240MPa以上あるものを「A」、240MPa未満であるものを「B」と判定した。
前記A型ダンベル試験片について、試験温度23℃の条件で、精密万能試験機(株式会社島津製作所製、商品名:オートグラフAG-5000B)を用いて、JIS K 7171:2016に準拠した静的曲げ試験を行うことにより曲げ強度を測定し、400MPa以上あるものを「A」、390MPa以上400MPa未満であるものを「B」、390MPa未満であるものを「C」と判定した。
Claims (4)
- 断面の長径が20.0~35.0μmの範囲にあり、短径が5.0~10.0μmの範囲にあり、短径に対する長径の比(長径/短径)である異形比Rが3.0より大きく5.0以下の範囲にある、扁平な断面形状を有する扁平断面ガラスフィラメントを複数本含む扁平断面ガラス繊維であって、
該扁平断面ガラスフィラメントの断面に外接する長方形の面積に対する、該扁平断面ガラスフィラメントの断面積の比(扁平断面ガラスフィラメントの断面積/扁平断面ガラスフィラメントの断面に外接する長方形の面積)である充填率Pが77.0~92.0%の範囲にあり、前記異形比Rおよび前記充填率Pが次式(1)を満たし、
扁平断面ガラス繊維の全量に対し、52.0~62.0質量%の範囲のSiO2と、10.0~20.0質量%の範囲のAl2O3と、16.7~28.1質量%の範囲のCaOとを含むことを特徴とする、扁平断面ガラス繊維。
