Abstract
Description
共重合体A、Bは、上記構成単位(i),(ii)を上記割合で有していればよいが、スケール抑制効果を阻害しない範囲で、これらの他に、上記構成単位と共重合可能な他の単量体に由来する構成単位を含んでいてもよい。この場合、上記構成単位(i),(ii)によるスケール抑制効果を有効に得るために、他の単量体に由来する構成単位のモル比は、本発明の共重合体の製造に用いた全単量体に由来する構造単位100モル%に対して10モル%以下であることが好ましく、5モル%以下であることがより好ましい。
共重合体A,Bを製造する方法としては、共重合体原料として少なくともアクリル酸(塩)と2-アクリルアミド-2-メチルプロパンスルホン酸(塩)を用いて、ラジカル重合法により共重合する方法が挙げられる。例えば、アクリル酸と2-アクリルアミド-2-メチルプロパンスルホン酸を水に溶解し、雰囲気を不活性ガスで置換し、重合開始剤の存在下に重合温度50~100℃で、水溶液重合を行うことで共重合体A,Bを製造することができる。
本発明のスケール抑制剤は、RO給水に対し、任意の濃度に調整した水溶液として添加する。その添加量は、RO給水の水質に応じて適宜選択することができるが、RO給水中における共重合体A及び共重合体Bの合計濃度が0.1~20mg/L程度となるように添加することが好ましい。
AA(アクリル酸)と、AMPS(2-アクリルアミド-2-メチルプロパンスルホン酸)と、必要に応じさらにtBu(N-(tert-ブチル)アクリルアミド)とを表1に示すモル比にて重合させることにより、表1に示す共重合体A1,B1,C1,C2を製造した。

流速 :0.6ml/分
カラム温度:40℃
検量線 :標準ポリアクリル酸ナトリウム
試薬特級のCaCl2・2H2O,NaHCO3及びFe2(SO4)3を超純水に表2に示す濃度にて溶解させて調製した。(カルシウム硬度1.4g-CaCO3/L,Fe3+濃度、0.5mg/L)
試薬特級CaCl2・2H2O,Na2SO4及びFe2(SO4)3を超純水に表3に示す濃度にて溶解させて調製した。(カルシウム硬度4.5g-CaCO3/L,Fe3+濃度、0.5mg/L)
共重合体A1と共重合体B1とを4:1の割合(質量比)になるよう混合してスケール抑制剤を調製した後、超純水に溶解させて0.2wt%溶液とした。
スケール抑制剤を表6のとおりに変更したこと以外は実施例1と同様にして各スケール抑制剤の最適添加量を求めた。結果を表6に示す。表6中、最適添加量の欄の「-」は、未実施であることを意味する。
RO模擬濃縮水I,IIのいずれにおいても、共重合体Aと共重合体Bとを4:1で配合した実施例1のスケール抑制剤の最適添加量が最も少なく、比較例1~8に比べてスケール抑制効果が高いことが認められた。
Claims (2)
- 濃縮水のFe濃度が0.01mg/L以上となる逆浸透膜処理におけるスケールの析出を抑制するスケール抑制剤であって、
アクリル酸に由来する構成単位(i)と2-アクリルアミド-2-メチルプロパンスルホン酸に由来する構成単位(ii)とを有し、構成単位(i)と構成単位(ii)とのモル比が95:5~99:1であり、重量平均分子量が5000を超え10000未満である共重合体Aと、
アクリル酸に由来する構成単位(i)と2-アクリルアミド-2-メチルプロパンスルホン酸に由来する構成単位(ii)とを有し、構成単位(i)と構成単位(ii)とのモル比が80:20~90:10であり、重量平均分子量が5000を超え10000未満である共重合体Bと
を含み、
共重合体Aと共重合体Bとの配合質量比A:Bが3:1~6:1であり、
リン含有化合物を実質的に含まない、スケール抑制剤。 - 逆浸透膜処理におけるスケールの析出を抑制するスケール抑制方法であって、
該逆浸透膜処理の濃縮水のFe濃度が0.01mg/L以上であり、
該逆浸透膜処理の被処理水に、
アクリル酸に由来する構成単位(i)と2-アクリルアミド-2-メチルプロパンスルホン酸に由来する構成単位(ii)とを有し、構成単位(i)と構成単位(ii)とのモル比が95:5~99:1であり、重量平均分子量が5000を超え10000未満である共重合体Aと、
アクリル酸に由来する構成単位(i)と2-アクリルアミド-2-メチルプロパンスルホン酸に由来する構成単位(ii)とを有し、構成単位(i)と構成単位(ii)とのモル比が80:20~90:10であり、重量平均分子量が5000を超え10000未満である共重合体Bとを、
共重合体Aと共重合体Bとの添加質量比A:Bが3:1~6:1となるように添加し、
該被処理水にリン含有化合物を添加しない、スケール抑制方法。
