Description
本発明の他の目的は、表示パネルと偏光層の間の段差が除去された側面を含み、超精密微細導電パターンが形成された側面を備えた表示パネルを含む表示装置を提供することである。

Claims (15)
- 薄膜トランジスタ及び画素電極が形成された表示パネルの一面に偏光層を配置する段階と、
前記偏光層の側面と前記表示パネルの側面が一致するようにカッティング(cutting)レーザビームを利用して前記偏光層を切断する段階と、
前記表示パネルの前記側面に導電性ペースト(paste)を塗布する段階と、
パターニングレーザビームを利用して前記導電性ペーストをパターニングする段階と、を有し、
前記導電性ペーストを塗布する段階は、
前記導電性ペーストを塗布した後、前記導電性ペーストに熱風を供給して前記導電性ペーストを事前硬化(pre-hardening)する段階と、
前記事前硬化した導電性ペーストに硬化用レーザビームを照射して前記事前硬化した導電性ペーストを硬化する段階と、を含むことを特徴とする表示装置の製造方法。 - 前記偏光層を切断する段階は、前記カッティングレーザビームを利用して前記偏光層を切断するとともに、前記表示パネルの前記側面を研磨することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置の製造方法。
- 前記偏光層の前記側面と前記表示パネルの前記側面の間の段差が100μm以下であることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の表示装置の製造方法。
- 前記導電性ペーストを塗布する段階は、プリント技法を利用して前記表示パネルの前記側面の既設定された塗布領域に前記導電性ペーストを一体に形成することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置の製造方法。
- 前記表示パネルは、
前記画素電極上に配置される共通電極と、
前記共通電極上に配置されるカラーフィルタと、を更に含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置の製造方法。 - 前記導電性ペーストをパターニングする段階は、前記薄膜トランジスタ、前記画素電極、前記共通電極、及び前記カラーフィルタのうちの少なくとも1つに各々電気的に連結される複数の側面導電パターンを形成することを特徴とする請求項5に記載の表示装置の製造方法。
- 前記側面導電パターン間の間隔は30μm以下であることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の表示装置の製造方法。
- 前記側面導電パターンに異方性導電フィルム(anisotropic conductive film;ACF)を付着して駆動回路及び印刷回路基板(Printed circuit board;PCB)を前記側面導電パターンに電気的に連結する段階を更に含むことを特徴とする請求項6に記載の表示装置の製造方法。
- 前記偏光層を切断する段階は、
前記偏光層を切断しながら前記切断によって生成される不純物を吸引する段階と、
前記表示パネルの前記側面を常圧(atmospheric pressure)プラズマ洗浄する段階と、を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置の製造方法。 - 前記導電性ペーストをパターニングする段階は、
前記パターニングする前に、前記導電性ペーストに熱風を供給して前記導電性ペーストを事前硬化する段階と、
前記パターニングした後、前記事前硬化した導電性ペーストに硬化用レーザビームを照射して前記事前硬化した導電性ペーストを硬化する段階と、を更に含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置の製造方法。 - 前記導電性ペーストは、銀(Ag)、銅(Cu)、金(Au)、アルミニウム(Al)から選ばれた少なくとも1つを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置の製造方法。
- 前記表示パネルは、既設定された搬送ラインに沿って前記表示パネルの前記一面に平行な方向に搬送され、
前記表示パネルの搬送により、前記偏光層を付着する段階、前記偏光層を切断する段階、前記導電性ペーストを塗布する段階、及び前記導電性ペーストをパターニングする段階が順に行われることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置の製造方法。 - 薄膜トランジスタ及び画素電極が提供される表示パネルの少なくとも一側面に導電性ペーストを塗布する段階と、
硬化用レーザビームを利用して前記導電性ペーストを硬化する段階と、
パターニングレーザビームを利用して前記硬化した前記導電性ペーストをパターニングして複数の側面導電パターンを形成する段階と、を有し、
前記導電性ペーストを硬化する段階は、
前記導電性ペーストに熱風を供給して前記導電性ペーストを事前硬化する段階と、
前記事前硬化した導電性ペーストに硬化用レーザビームを照射して前記事前硬化した導電性ペーストを硬化する段階と、を含むことを特徴とする表示装置の製造方法。 - 前記導電性ペーストを塗布する段階は、
前記表示パネルの上面及び下面に偏光層を付着する段階と、
前記偏光層の側面と前記表示パネルの側面が一致するようにカッティングレーザビームを利用して前記偏光層を切断する段階と、
前記表示パネルの前記側面を常圧プラズマ洗浄する段階と、
洗浄した前記表示パネルの前記側面の既設定された塗布領域に前記導電性ペーストを一体に形成する段階と、を含むことを特徴とする請求項13に記載の表示装置の製造方法。 - 前記側面導電パターンが形成された前記表示パネルの上面及び下面に偏光層を付着する段階を更に含むことを特徴とする請求項13に記載の表示装置の製造方法。
