[2] 前記BET比表面積が3~20m2/gである[1]に記載のタルク粉末。
[3] 嵩密度が0.05~0.35g/cm3である[1]又は[2]に記載のタルク粉末。
[4] メジアン径(D50)が1~10μmである[1]~[3]のいずれか1つに記載のタルク粉末。
[5] [1]~[4]のいずれか1つに記載のタルク粉末を含む、樹脂物性向上剤。
[6] [1]~[4]のいずれか1つに記載のタルク粉末と樹脂とを含む樹脂組成物。
[7] [5]に記載の樹脂物性向上剤と樹脂とを含む樹脂組成物。
本発明の一実施形態(本実施形態)に係るタルク粉末は、BET比表面積をA(m2/g)とし、200~700℃における熱重量示差熱分析による重量減少率をB(質量%)とした際のB/Aが、0.10以下でとなっている。
B/Aは、0.02~0.09であることが好ましく、0.025~0.085であることがより好ましい。
タルク粉末試料7mgを示差熱天秤(例えば、(株)リガク社製、装置名:ThermoPlus2)に入れて昇温し(室温~950℃)、その際、温度200℃から700℃までにおける重量減少率(質量%)を求める。昇温速度は10℃/minとする。測定雰囲気は窒素雰囲気とすることが好ましい。
比表面積が3~20m2/gであることで、樹脂と混合した際に高弾性率を得ることができる。
本実施形態に係るタルク粉末の製造方法は、原料タルクをスチームジェットミルで粉砕する粉砕工程を含む。
既述のとおり、スチームジェットミルを用いた粉砕処理は、粉砕用の流体エネルギーとして過熱水蒸気を用いているため、高せん断力を瞬間的に付与できる。そのため、流体エネルギーとして圧縮空気を用いた一般条件のジェットミルよりも、瞬間的に大きなせん断力が原料タルク粉末に作用することで、表面の水分が効率よく脱離し、良好な疎水性が発現する。そのため、樹脂と混合して樹脂組成物とした際に、タルク粉末の本来有する物性向上効果が高いレベルで発現されやすくなると考えられる。
上記の範囲で適宜調整することで、既述のB/A、嵩密度、比表面積、平均粒径(D50)等を所望の範囲とすることができる。
なお、過熱水蒸気は市販のボイラー及びスーパーヒーター(蒸気過熱器)等で所望の温度で発生させることができる。
本実施形態に係る樹脂物性向上剤は、本実施形態に係るタルク粉末を含む。当該樹脂物性向上剤を樹脂(例えば、後述する熱可塑性樹脂)と混合することで、その樹脂物性(特に弾性率)を向上させることができる。すなわち、樹脂(樹脂組成物を含む)添加用の樹脂物性向上剤として好適である。
本実施形態に係る樹脂組成物は、既述の本実施形態のタルク粉末(又は、既述の本実施形態の樹脂物性向上剤)と樹脂とを含む。
樹脂としては、熱可塑性樹脂(便宜的に、熱可塑性エラストマーを含む)、熱硬化性樹脂、ゴム、セルロース系樹脂等が挙げられる。
さらに、用途によっては、溶媒や分散媒を含有させて液状の樹脂組成物としてもよい。
また、本実施形態に係る樹脂組成物は、自動車内外装品、家電製品部品、事務機器部品等の種々の用途に使用することができる。
メジアン径(D50)が12.7μm、嵩密度が0.72g/cm3の原料タルク(パキスタン産のタルクをローラーミルにより粗粉砕し、上記のD50とした)を、スチームジェットミル(以下、「s-JET」ということがある)及びジェットミルのそれぞれにより、表1に示す各メジアン径に粉砕した。
・装置は、Netzsch Trockenmahltechnik製スチーム・ジェットミルs-JET150を用いた。
・過熱水蒸気の温度(粉砕エリアに入る前の温度):360℃
・粉砕圧力(ゲージ圧):3.8MPa
なお、粒度調整は、スチームジェットミルに付随した分級機の回転数調整により行った。
・装置は、ホソカワミクロン株式会社製カウンタジェットミルAFG710/4を用いた。粒度調整は、ジェットミルに付随した分級機の回転数調整により行った。
なお、D50=2.2μmの場合(比較例1)は、粉砕後に分級を行って調整した。
上記のようにして作製したタルク粉末を用いて作製した樹脂組成物の評価を下記のようにして行った。
JIS K7171に準じて曲げ弾性率を測定した。結果を表2に示す。
射出成型用金型(JIS K7171 タイプB1)を用いて樹脂組成物の射出成形を行い、それによって得られた成形品(10mm(幅)×4mm(厚さ)×80mm(長さ))をJIS K7171に準じて株式会社オートグラフAG-Xplusで曲げ弾性率を評価した(温度:23℃、曲げ速度:2mm/分)。
なお、成形品を構成する樹脂組成物の樹脂はポリプロピレン樹脂(サンアロマー株式会社PX-600N)を用い、タルク粉末はポリプロピレン樹脂100質量部に対して20質量部とした。

- タルク粉末を含む樹脂物性向上剤であって、
前記タルク粉末が、
BET比表面積をA(m 2 /g)とし、200~700℃における熱重量示差熱分析による重量減少率をB(質量%)とした際のB/Aが、0.10以下であり、
前記重量減少率(質量%)が1.2質量%以下であり、
前記BET比表面積が3~20m 2 /gである、
樹脂物性向上剤。 - 前記タルク粉末の嵩密度が0.05~0.35g/cm3である請求項1に記載の樹脂物性向上剤。
- 前記タルク粉末のメジアン径(D50)が1~10μmである請求項1に記載の樹脂物性向上剤。
- 請求項1に記載の樹脂物性向上剤と樹脂とを含む樹脂組成物。
