Claims (13)
- 集積波長分割多重(WDM)光トランシーバであって:
入力多波長光ビームを提供し第1の集積チップに形成された広帯域光源と、
複数の光信号に応答し、そこから複数の電気受信情報信号を形成し第2の集積チップに形成されたフォトダイオードアレイと、
送信部品と受信部品を含み第3の集積チップに形成されたフォトニクス集積モジュール(PIM)と、
を含み、当該送信部品が、
前記入力多波長光ビームを、空間的に分離した光波長成分のセットへとスペクトル的に分離する波長分割デマルチプレクサと、
空間的に分離した前記光波長成分のセットに結合され、複数の電気情報信号に応答して複数の変調光信号を生成する電気光学変調器アレイと、
前記複数の変調光信号を単一の出力信号経路に結合する波長分割マルチプレクサと、を含み、
前記受信部品が、入来するWDM信号に応答して、当該入来するWDM信号内の各波長成分を分離し、前記フォトダイオードアレイへの入力として供給される複数の光信号を生成するために、波長分割デマルチプレクサを含むことを特徴とする集積WDM光トランシーバ。 - 請求項1に記載の集積WDM光トランシーバにおいて、少なくとも1つの波長分割デマルチプレクサが、導波路型デマルチプレクサを含むことを特徴とする集積WDM光トランシーバ。
- 請求項2に記載の集積WDM光トランシーバにおいて、前記導波路型デマルチプレクサが、アレイ導波路回折格子(AWG)デバイスを含むことを特徴とする集積WDM光トランシーバ。
- 請求項1に記載の集積WDM光トランシーバにおいて、少なくとも1つの波長分割デマルチプレクサが、自由空間デマルチプレクサを含むことを特徴とする集積WDM光トランシーバ。
- 請求項4に記載の集積WDM光トランシーバにおいて、前記自由空間デマルチプレクサが、ブレーズド格子型のデマルチプレクサを含むことを特徴とする集積WDM光トランシーバ。
- 請求項1に記載の集積WDM光トランシーバにおいて、前記波長分割マルチプレクサが、導波路型マルチプレクサを含むことを特徴とする集積WDM光トランシーバ。
- 請求項6に記載の集積WDM光トランシーバにおいて、前記導波路型マルチプレクサが、AWGマルチプレクサを含むことを特徴とする集積WDM光トランシーバ。
- 請求項1に記載の集積WDM光トランシーバにおいて、前記波長分割マルチプレクサが、自由空間マルチプレクサを含むことを特徴とする集積WDM光トランシーバ。
- 請求項8に記載の集積WDM光トランシーバにおいて、前記自由空間マルチプレクサが、ブレーズド格子型のマルチプレクサを含むことを特徴とする集積WDM光トランシーバ。
- 請求項1に記載の集積WDM光トランシーバにおいて、前記波長分割デマルチプレクサおよび前記波長分割マルチプレクサのそれぞれが全て、導波路型デバイスを具えることを特徴とする集積WDM光トランシーバ。
- 請求項1に記載の集積WDM光トランシーバにおいて、前記波長分割デマルチプレクサおよび前記波長分割マルチプレクサのそれぞれが全て、自由空間デバイスを具えることを特徴とする集積WDM光トランシーバ。
- 請求項1に記載の集積WDM光トランシーバにおいて、前記電気光学変調器アレイは、PIMを支持する半導体基板に取り付けられた単一のモノリシック集積部品であることを特徴とする集積WDM光トランシーバ。
- 請求項1に記載の集積WDM光トランシーバにおいて、前記広帯域光源が、前記入力多波長光ビームとして自然放射増幅光(ASE)を生成するように構成された1又はそれ以上の光ファイバ増幅器を含むことを特徴とする集積WDM光トランシーバ。
