Description
Claims (12)
- 対向配置された第1および第2基材フィルム、および前記第1および第2基材フィルムの間に存在する光変調層を含む光学フィルムを有し、
前記第1および第2基材フィルムの互いに対向する面にはそれぞれ電極層が形成されており、
前記電極層は、前記光変調層に電界を印加できるように形成された第1領域と前記第1領域が前記電界を印加できるように前記電極層を外部電源と連結している第2領域を含み、
前記第2領域は、前記第1領域と電気的に連結された領域Aと、前記第1領域と電気的に連結されていない領域Bを有し、
前記第1基材フィルム上の電極層に形成されている前記第2領域の前記領域Aと前記第2基材フィルム上の電極層に形成されている前記第2領域の前記領域Aとが互いに対向しないように、前記第1基材フィルム上の前記領域Aおよび第2基材フィルム上の前記領域Aが互いにオフセットして配置され、
前記電極層は、中央隔室、複数の周辺隔室、および少なくとも1つの通路構造を含み、
前記第1領域は前記中央隔室であり、前記第2領域は前記中央隔室を囲む前記複数の周辺隔室であり、
前記複数の周辺隔室のうち前記中央隔室と前記通路構造を介して電気的に接続されている周辺隔室が前記領域Aであり、前記中央隔室と電気的に接続されていない周辺隔室が前記領域Bであり、
前記光学フィルムは曲率を有する2枚の外郭基板の間に位置し、カプセル化剤によって光学フィルムの全面がカプセル化されている、光学デバイス。 - 前記第1および第2基材フィルムを互いに付着させているシーラントをさらに含む、請求項1に記載の光学デバイス。
- 前記シーラントは、前記第1基材フィルム上の前記第1領域および前記第2領域の境界と前記第1基材フィルムの少なくとも一面の最も外側部位とに存在し、かつ、前記第2基材フィルム上の前記第1領域および前記第2領域の境界と前記第2基材フィルムの少なくとも一面の最も外側部位とに存在する状態で前記第1および第2基材フィルムを付着させている、請求項2に記載の光学デバイス。
- 前記光変調層は液晶化合物を含む能動液晶層である、請求項1から3の何れか一項に記載の光学デバイス。
- 前記光変調層は、液晶ホストおよび異方性染料ゲストを含み、少なくとも二つの互いに異なる配向状態の間をスイッチングできる能動液晶層である、請求項1から4の何れか一項に記載の光学デバイス。
- 前記互いに異なる配向状態は垂直配向状態と水平配向状態を含む、請求項5に記載の光学デバイス。
- 偏光層をさらに含む、請求項1から6の何れか一項に記載の光学デバイス。
- 偏光層をさらに含み、前記偏光層は、前記能動液晶層の水平配向状態の平均光軸と前記偏光層の光吸収軸がなす角度が80度~100度または35度~55度の範囲内となるように配置されている、請求項6に記載の光学デバイス。
- 前記第1および第2基材フィルムの前記光変調層を向いた面上に存在する配向膜をさらに含む、請求項1から8の何れか一項に記載の光学デバイス。
- 前記第1および第2基材フィルム上の前記配向膜の配向方向がなす角度は-10度~10度の範囲内または80度~90度の範囲内である、請求項9に記載の光学デバイス。
- 前記光学フィルムの少なくとも一側に配置された偏光層を含み、前記光学フィルムは、前記第1および第2基材フィルムの前記光変調層を向いた面上に存在する配向膜をさらに含み、前記第1および第2基材フィルムのうち、前記偏光層に近い基材フィルム上に形成された前記配向膜の配向方向と前記偏光層の光吸収軸がなす角度が80度~90度の範囲内である、請求項1から6の何れか一項に記載の光学デバイス。
- 一つ以上の開口部が形成されている車体、および前記開口部に装着された請求項1から11の何れか一項に記載の光学デバイスを含む、自動車。
